Probably the same reason guitarists do.

Edit: Ugh, what wretched sounds.

So annoying showmanship then?

It's an attempt to make otherwise boring music seem interesting.

Seriously, the runs at 2:42....god damn.

Yeah Szeryng has so much control over the lines. I don't know any other violinists who can bring out the polyphony as well as he can.

I was incredibly impressed with that, everything was so distinguished, and the counterpoint was incredible. And then the ending, I'm not sure what to call it, but wow.

That's just a different level of musicianship.

I'm gonna need specific instructions again on how to properly dance with my pants on my head.

First you put your pants on your head.
Second you dance.
Third you wipe off all the pussy.

It's just something that happens. You're putting your feelings into the music so you move and do stuff because it makes you feel that way.

What I've noticed that's intriguing is when some people play Bach on keyboard they tend to sway around in a circular motion, like this:

Then when I play, even before I noticed that, I found myself doing it too unintentionally. I think it's from how this music is like clockworks.
