Some of you may know, I was going for a Peavey Windsor. I had heard good things about them except how reliable they are. I tried 3 used ones and they were all messed up somehow. So I ordered a new one. GC couldn't get it cause they are all out and don't sell them (head, not combo). So I got this stuff instead...

The new stuff is a Peavey Valveking(+footswitch) and an H20 Chorus & Echo. I had NO idea how heavy the Valveking could get (both weight and sound). It has the punch-in-the-face metal sound I was going for AND can do cleans pretty damn well. Reverb was a bonus. Seems reliable. Sure is weighty enough to seem solid. If I'm correct, Peavey actually took the saying "built like a tank" literally and made these amps out of tanks (not able to find citation, may be made up). Pretty damn awesome.

The Chorus&Echo is useful. Helps me nail Faeries Wear Boots by Sabbath and Rope by the Foo Fighters. Chorus is a bit cheesy (not good like that Kramer up there, but weird), but adds something to solos.

Mods permitting, I won't be able to do clips until tomorrow. I could do crappy low-volume clips now but this thing sounds best cranked to hell.

Piano dick had some good parts, but should have said "As the business man slowly gets boned", would have accented the whole dick feeling of the album

Hmmm...That H2O looks VERY familiar....Glad you dig it man. It served me well

I seriously only got it for 2 or 3 songs, but the damn thing is so fun to play with. Oh, and with your help I was also able to make the ultimate Kirk Hammet pedalboard!

Standard Tele (modded to Nashville specs)
Reverend Roundhouse

Orange Rockerverb 50 MKI
Vox AC4c1

And pedals!

you need a Red n Black tolex mod for the VK

seriously though, get a dummy jack for Insert #1, put your guitar in #2, EQ in the effects loops and you'll be off to the races.

Any pics of the black and red mod anywhere? And jack 1 doesn't work at all...

You got a kitty!?

Why would I choose that cat? It has cat-downs.

It would be a custom job. I did it to my Splawn

Fixing Jack 1 should NOT be all that hard. Even if you don't use it - it would be good to fix. Dummy jack in #1 will give you a gain/clarity boost.

It looks good on your splawn, but I don't have enough confidence to re-tolex anything myself.

And it should be, but I'm not opening this until the warranty runs out.

If it's in warranty, they should fix it?

Bought used so it was that way when I got it.
