Just discovered this band thanks to a recommendation from AJ Minette (yes, that AJ Minette). Really awesome stuff, similar to Nocturne era Human Abstract, but the singer reminds me a lot of Cedric from The Mars Volta. Definitely worth a listen:

Vocals: a little too lofty, can't get behind it.

Synth: mehhhhhh

Everything else sounds pretty solid, it just feels like really trebly production. Memoire Insuffisante is definitely picking up in quality, but his voice his really affecting my enjoyment.

I found this band a few days ago too. Honestly, the vocals were the selling point for me, I'm a sucker for higher pitched vocalists.

The band is like a more pop oriented THA. Not too bad.

Like, it's weird because they're not bad at all. Great singer, it's just like...not fitting errr...idk.

For some reason I have a bit of a soft spot for these super technical types of bands with clean vocals.

I honestly don't know why I like this haha.

I dunno. It's kind of like my reasons for liking Alcest: they've got clean vox over blastbeats from time to time, which I really dig for some reason.

I actually don't mind the cleans, but the music can go drown in a lake. Last thing I want is another band that sounds like music text books being fed through a computer that turns things into metalcore.

The Metalcore Algorithm.
My band, Escher
My progressive rock project, Mosaic

Saw this reaction coming.

Unrelated, but I'm gonna play a Slice the Cake track on my radio show tonight. Any recommendations?

I've decided to play Of Gallows on here. It'll be playing later tonight, probably closer to midnight.

I would like to say that I overstated my dislike of them. Bad morning. Regardless, not a fan, but it's still not as bad as THA. I actually quite enjoyed a fair few bits and pieces, just still felt like it was another bunch of dudes using scales as a way of writing "easy" technical music. Apparently the guitarists took lessons from AJ, so I really shouldn't be surprised.

As for STC, I was going to suggest Of Gallows, so that works perfectly. Cheers for the rep man, appreciated.
