I have a Washburn J27SCE and lately i've noticed a slight buzzing on certain notes which continues to become more prevalent. Upon further investigation, I discovered the pre amp for the pickup system was vibrating against the wood.

The part which concerns me is the location of the pre amp. It is mounted above the soundhole towards the lower bout, on the soundboard! I don't have any idea why it would be mounted on the single most important piece of tonewood on the instrument. ALL other examples of this pickup system I have seen mount the pre amp either to the side or the heel of the neck. An example of the pre amp and what I assume is it's proper mounting is: http://static.musiciansfriend.com/derivates/6/001/206/466/DV019_Jpg_Regular_300211_installed.jpg

My question is- Is it worth trying to get the pre amp re-located within the guitar?
