Hope this is the right place for this question, but I'm having trouble figuring out a particular scale heard in the beginning of "america" from west side story.

I'm talking about the part that goes "Puerto Rico, my heart of devotion, let it sink back in the ocean...always a hurricane blowing, always the population growing."

It's probably something super simple but it sounds almost bluesy and I don't have access to a keyboard unfortunately

I haven't listened to this song and I am unable too. From an educated guess I'd say it's a Blues scale by "it sounds almost bluesy". Just try and find the tonal center and build off there.
