So i have some riffs i'm trying to notate in guitar pro and i never learned how to actually count music before...learning now lol.

Anyways, the riff i have I count [1-2-3-4-5-6-7,1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8] + [1-2-3-4-5-6-7,1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8] + [1-2-3-4-5-6-7,1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8].....how do i notate this? i seem to use this timing a lot...the riff prior to this i believe is 16/16 timing? i was able to put it into the program in 4/4 and i used 16th notes and it came out right...though i was actually counting it in my head as [1-2,1-2-3] [1-2,1-2-3] [1-2, 1-2-3-4].

if it matters i'm playing it at around 360 bpm with no time signature on the count...just straight ticks... : \

By the looks of that second example, you probably just have a regular 4/4 riff but with accents in weird places. It's called a Hemiola.
Anyways, just get where the accents go in your head and count 1-e-and-ah for each beat
1-e-and-ah 2-e-and-ah (in place of 1,2,3,4 as they gets confusing and can get you tongue tied)

And then put the accents on the appropriate beat subdivision:
1-e-AND-ah 2-E-and-A 3-e-AND-a 4-e-and-ah.

yeah, it's in 4/4. it's not even a hemiola, it's just accented.
