Hi y'all I'm thinking about changing the tubes in my peavey classic 50 4x10. Has anyone done this and suggest any specific type of tubes thanks.

That runs EL84's, right? People tend to love JJ for that. As for 12AX7s, I like JJ for that too. They're a bit dark, though.
Current Gear:
LTD MH-400 with Gotoh GE1996T (EMG 85/60)
PRS SE Custom 24 (Suhr SSH+/SSV)
Ibanez RG3120 Prestige (Dimarzio Titans)

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Didn't you say that you had a stuffed fox that you would occasionally fuck?

Yeah, go with JJs. They make the best new EL84 right now. There were rumors going around a few months ago about a decline in quality on JJ EL84s, but nothing else has popped up about it recently. If you're concerned about that, you could see about buying JJs relabeled by Groove Tubes or Ruby.

JJs as well for the preamp. The Classics are fairly bright amps, which JJs seem to complement well.
