i have an M Audio fast track, i tried garageband amp models, but i dont like them, i prefer my amp's tone, when i tried recording using my amp's line out, it sounds like 1990's black metal and fuzzy and ugly, is there anything i can do about it? to have a nice tone recording through my amp, because GB's amps dont have enough gain, or dont produce a nice tone idk

You are by passing the cab when using a line out so you are going to get a more fuzzy shit sounding tone. If you really like the tone of your amp get an SM57 and learn how to mic your amp correctly.

Or try using good amp sims (like Le Pou plugins) and impulse responses (like GuitarHacks).

Garageband supports AU I don't know much about AU since I am on Windows and use VST, I am sure someone will come along and help you out. Maybe try googling how to use AU with garageband.

i added the component file for the amp models lo pou's to the components folder yet it doesnt appear in garageband

I believe LE pou's LeCab is available for Mac. If not Keifer (my preference) might be. For impulses responses search google for God's Cabs a lot of people like those. There is a sticky thread that has a bunch of links. You just need to find out if LeCab or Keifer are Mac compatable.

they are not mac compatible ive already recorded them, and le pous amp models sound just as fuzzy as my amps line out, and i dialed back the distortion, GB amps models sound better, and they still sound really weak

Did you put impulse responses after LE Pou cause if not that is why they are fuzzy.

Any impulse response .wav or .aiff

Scroll down and choose one the free impulse response packs. I'd probably recommend Catharsis if you're new at this.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
