2000 mij Rg470ti. Pics first.
How I bought it.

My friend sanding/ original color.

Black again, I did fix that peticular drip.

Omg not another frankenstrat.

Bought this off kijiji for 150$. It was beat to hell with an awful flat black painjob and flaking clearcoat. After sanding, taping and paint I actually stripped it down again because it looked terrible. So I sanded it better, filled the rough grain, sanded and the got to paint again. Its got a few imperfections here and there but its decent now.

Its got a japanese made lo trs bridge that I do not have the bar for, so its been blocked. The G string saddle is cut unusually low, but doesnt buzz, so its okay. The maple neck is from an rg550 and feels very similar to the wizard II on my 370. Its a one peice basswood body I'm pretty sure. I checked for the slightest hints of seams and the grain was perfect throughout. Nice looking peice of wood.

The guitar sustains very well and sounds pretty 'big' acoustically in comparison with the 370. After a completely new rewire it actually sounds pretty decent, but the bridge pickup is a bit muddy and I want more clarity, so I will eventually put in a green/black set of dimarzios. Still debating the JP set. So far spent 50$ on paint, pots, switch and a jack.
After the pups it shall be awesome and for 100$ less then my rg370dx.

Sweet, I like the green/black EVH-gimmick!
Get some pink pickup rings, bright yellow pickups and a variety of hot-whatever knobs and I'd take that off you any day.

HNGD!

(It's more of a frankenG, than a Frankenstrat though. :shrug

Bump for new pups. Dimarzio Crunch Lab/ Liquifire set.
I've had them for about a week, they sound great in the rg470.
Cl is really tight, well defined and punchy with high gain and retains clarity well for chords.
LF is a very warm fluid pup quite similar in tone to the air norton, quite bass heavy but sounds great for flowing leads and legato stuff, cleans up very nicely.

sweet I turned a Peavey into a black/green frankenstrat using house paint for the green and stove paint for the black.

Wish I still had it!
