just looking for some suggestions here. My pedal board currently has the following:

tuner
wah
compression
overdrive (x2)
distortion
flanger
chorus
delay
reverb
loop station

I will be getting a noisegate and a boost pedal.

I will have one more spot left after that and I can't decide on what I should pick. I'm thinking maybe tremolo, phazer, or fuzz.

I'm open to other ideas too. I want to have a super versatile sound.

Another thing; is it worth it to have an acoustic simulator pedal? Couldn't I get the same effect by using compression and a little reverb?

You have too many effects, who are you the edge? learn to play without the effects.

I heard of this one pedal, called the Johnny Octave and basically, it raises the pitch of all your notes by an octave, it sounds interesting and could be fun for soloing.
#8
What do you play?

I love my trem, but I like playing spaghetti western stuff.

Your guitar uses too much electricity. Learn to play with an acoustic.

try getting a volume pedal, you can do some real fun stuff with in

^this.
What you play is kind of important though, because if you play what I play, you already have way too much.

Or a fuzz. Everyone likes a good fuzz :3

This. Especially the EVH version.

A lot of people asking what kind of music I play. I play a lot of stuff. Just not metal. I like to play punk, indie, garage rock, blues, rockbilly, 50s ballads, old school country. But lately I've been messing around with spacey, experimental stuff.

Fuzz, maybe the Joyo's Ultimate Octave, delicious fuzz and switchable octave , it's my next pedal. I have an Ottava Magus from Catalinbread and I LOVE IT, but I need fuzz without octave too.

Edit: Spacey experimental stuff, uh? Eartquaker's Rainbow Machine !

LOL.

I was thinking M-13 or Pod HD 500.

That would be super duper versatile.

I'd say how 'bout an EHX 44 Magnum micro amp and leave the head at home, but I'm betting you got a combo amp. With the HD 500 you could leave the combo amp at home and plug direct into the PA.

The HD 500 should be able to simulate accoustic.

Or you could just install a piezo pup on your guitar. Pete Townsend does it; why not you?

If you've fallen victim to the cult of Apple, then this might be the ultimate last pedal for your board: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/iStomp

That's why I got an old MFX instead of a pedal board.

Seriously, this. I said on another thread I don't know why you even play music if you're not going to use a Big Muff or something similar.

My solid state amp is fuzzy enough without the fuzz, thank you very much

And that's why you're an idiot.

I play thrash.
A Muff is the last thing I want for that.
A Big Muff is not always needed.
And personally, I think they sound like shit.

TS, get a fuzz, but first, let us know what KIND of Fuzz you want.
A tighter, treblier fuzz, a wall of sound fuzz, a sputtery noisy fuzz, or a middle ground between them all?

I'm a really, really big Death fan?

It's not like I have anything driving the amp harder. Just delay, compression, EQ, phaser.

My fuzz is for my bass.

6505 fixes everything. (I was only posting it as a joke. But I guess Blackstar is the new 6505).

Tremolos are cool.

If I get a fuzz, it'll probably be Angry Fuzz by Visual Sound. I have not yet been disappointed by one of their pedals and every one they make gets great reviews. I have the Route 66, Jekyll & Hyde, and the H2O. I will probably get their Garagetone Tremolo, if I decide to go with a trem.

Have you considered something funky like a Earthquaker Devices Rainbow Machine, Mid Fi Electronics Pitch Pirate (or any of their pedals for that matter) EHX Freeze, Crystal Dagger?

If you get a fuzz, go with a Blackout Effectors Musket. Fo realz yo!

Or, you could look into a true bypass loop pedal. Could possibly save a little pedal dancing and it can help clean up your signal a tad.

All of these are great suggestions. Thanks. Now I REALLY can't decide what to do. I may end up having to take my reverb off my board so I have space. Cause I really want a tremolo and one of these you listed. Probably the Freeze. Any suggestions as to where in my effects chain that Freeze pedal should go?
