Help! I just ordered from my local ESP dealer both the M-1000 and the MH-1000! I couldn't make up my mind so he ordered both but I will choose one when they come in.

Is there anything about either of these guitars that is a HUGE plus? I like the reverse head on the M1000, but I love the contoured body of the MH1000.

ESP's website says the neck on the M1000 is slightly thinner? How much thinner than the MH1000? Is it noticeable?

I guess once they get in I will just have to make up my mind with whichever one "feels" better to me.

Any thoughts?

Yes, it's noticeable. I hate playing my M, because I hate the neck on it. The H and MH, on the other hand, have the most comfortable neck I've ever played.

The thin-U neck is the most comfortable neck I've played. But it's my own personal preference. We will never know for sure unless you actually play the guitar yourself. The thing with neck profile is that the player will adapt to it sooner or later so don't be too strict about it.

The biggest different between these 2 guitars aside from the cosmetics changes (like curved/flat top and headstock shape) is the body wood. In this case it's alder vs mahogany. You will have to choose whichever one you like more. But I think you already know about that.

the neck on the M is noticeably thinner and possibly a little flatter. definitely more of a shredders neck. the M also has a brighter tone, so it really depends on what you're going for

I personaly like the MH better than the M. But I'd take a H-1000 over both

The H and the MH are almost identical. Do you just prefer the headstock?

Yours looks just like the MH I sold a few weeks ago , very nice guitars! The 1000 series are probably the most solid/well built instruments to roll outta Korea.

Yeah, I'm with you. I prefer the H myself as well. I would love an H-1001FR, but I hate the color red. Even worse since that model also has abalone.

That. The M's neck is a lot flatter and a bit thinner, and considerably less comfortable than the MH.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
