So yeah, doing some fist-pumping kinetics work (FRAK YEAH! -.-) and basically after searching google and my lectures and books, I feel defeated by the last question. And since we have all kinds on here, was wondering whether anyone could lend a hand?

Basically, an enzyme has a Vmax of 45µmol s-1, and its relative moleculer mass is 7.6×10 to the power of 5. And its turnover number (Kcat) is 68 s-1.

I need to find the amount (mass) of enzyme required to reach the Km.

Any scientists out there?

Don't give me the answer, just instructions as how to do so.

Much appreciated!

45µmol s-1 = 68 s-1

µmol = 68/45 kilometers

Easy

Yep Essex too.

By the way, me and my friends are all completely stumped. I checked through the textbook, all lectures and googled/wiki'd numerously. Still no clue how to do this

haha biomedical science? strange to find this as a mutual forum. yeah, its a low blow on the lecturers part: giving us a question with no material on how to answer it.

well genetics tbh but its the same as biochem/biomed mostly. found it funny as i just finished the work and saw this thread.
and yeah, kinda harsh, especially when all research finds nothing. but, I just gotta bite the bullet, earn marks elsewhere. maybe complain and get reimbursed marks
