i have an old teisco guitar that is having some issue. when i hit a string it sends to the amp but seems to pulse. The note comes and goes over and over again. it has 3 pickups wired to 3 switches that seem to be working fine, they are wired to a volume and a tone and there is a transistor between the hot wire from the volume knob to the tone knob. any wiring guru's have any idea what might be pulsing the out?

Every guitar and bass forum I've visited has some people chasing some magical tone that will shoot jizzing unicorns riding on a rainbow out of their amp.

You sure it's a transistor and not a capacitor? That probably isn't the problem but I'm just trying to clarify.

When you say 'pulse' does it have a tremolo kind of effect?
Have you tried other guitars through the amp and this guitar through other amps?
Did this just happen abruptly?
