Hey everybody, decided to get an EC-1000 Black Cherry the other day. It's a really sweet guitar, and has EMG 81/60 pickups (which is my favorite set) and is fixed bridge.

Pics:

Review:

Overall this is a fantastic guitar. It comes with locking tuners, which vastly improves tuning stability and makes string changes very easy. It also has the locking TOM bridge, and I have to say, between the earvana compensated nut, the locking bridge, and locking tuners, this thing stays in tune FOREVER. The pickups sound fantastic, and the neck is fast as hell. (surprising, since Im used to Ibanez/Jackson necks) The guitar looks great, but I think the abalone could have been toned down a bit. It really is a great guitar! 10/10

Sweet.

I personally can't stand abalone, so that's why I want the one in Vintage Black.

HNGD bro!

I originally got the Vintage Black. Had to trade it back because it had a faulty nut, and it was missing one of the locking screws on the bridge :\ I don't care much for the abalone, but I do like the black cherry color.

I've been thinking of getting one of these in Black for a while. (not the Vintage Black, the plain Black finish)

I actually love the look of the abalone. As long as it's not overly done. But this guitar pulls it off nicely. Just my opinion though.

Nice!
The ESP locking tuners are quite sensitive, you might break them if you unscrew all the way while releasing the locking. I broke 2 of them this way so I might as well advice other people about this. Wish they'd stay with Sperzels.

Not a huge fan of ESP/LTDs as players but they always look good!

That's a lot of abalone... Nice finish though. Deep cherry finishes are some of my favourite. HNGD

Don't worry about it not being a "full-on" ESP. Saying LTD is to ESP what Squire is to Fender is true in that the order is the same but in terms of quality no one is saying your guitar is like a Squire. LTD, especially the EC series is great. In fact I just order the Floyd Rose version of this guitar and I can't wait to get it!

Yeah, it's definitely a quality guitar. Comparable to the 1200-1500$ guitars Ive had. They cost 849$, so it's definitely not a "cheap" guitar.
