Sup Pit,

Do you find hearing people of the opposite sex/same sex (whatever you're into) swearing to be a turn off? And if you do, is any amount a turn off? Or is it when they cuss anything and everything in a 50ft radius?

I find it annoying when anyone swears. I just lose respect for them.
Not sure why. I guess it was the way I was brought up.
EDIT: I guess I should be more clear. It's the excessive use. I swear myself, but not often.

That's fucking stupid.
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

I don't have confidence in someone's communication skills if every other word out of their mouth is fuck.

If I don't have faith in their communication skills, that means fights abound.

So hell yes in abundance. Not really otherwise.

Only if it's really excessive, and that's probably more because I associate excessive swearing with ignorance than anything. Ignorance is a huge turnoff for me.

Hmm... well on one hand I always find it strange when you meet those people who like refuse to swear and use stupid words to substitute, it just seems really cheesy. But if a chick like swears like 50 times in one sentence I find it pretty trashy. Need a slight mix I guess

If used excessively I just think that they have a limited language and are trying to make up for it, which in turn just means that they are dumb, and being dumb is a turn off for me. Unless she can prove that she is smart and have a broad knowledge of the language she is speaking and is just swearing to express her feelings, then she's just some girl too dumb to talk correctly.

It's a turn on for me.

Not too much, though.

No, it lets me know they can appreciate my Rated-R sense of humor.

Edit: I also wouldn't like excessive swearing, but I really haven't met a girl in my life who I thought sweared too much.
#13
I really don't like to use swear words myself but I don't mind it as long as it's not used excessively.

My last two relationships failed because they complained I cursed too much. (Also, the first didn't like the fact I watched porn because her dad was bipolar and had a massive porn addiction and within the past year had locked himself in her parent's bedroom for 14 days doing giant-spaghetti-monster-knows-what and then proceeds to threaten to kill himself and walks on the family)
I don't feel like I curse all that often. Maybe 3 or 4 times a day? Sometimes I'll go off on a string if I'm making fun of someone (all in good fun, though).
But it's not like I used fuck between every other word and I don't use them to convey thoughts or emotions.
I just use them because they amuse me.

So because of this, I guess, I find it slightly attractive if a girl isn't afraid to let loose a few naughty words now and then. However the girls who feel the need to use shit or **** every other sentence get tiring very quickly and come across as stupid.

I voted no, but then I read the responses and have to say I'd agree. Unless it is really over the top, then no I don't find it a turn off. I actually like it when a girl swears because then I don't feel bad about doing it myself.

But like everyone else said, if they swear like a middle school kid who just found out what bad words are, then yeah it'll get quite annoying.

I don't like to swear myself, it makes me uncomfortable unless I'm pissed about something and it comes out by itself. As for others, it doesn't really bother me.

The word fuck is used at least 25 times in this clip alone, from where I started it to the end. Still hilarious. Thought it was relevant to the thread.

I ****ing love this movie.

I probably swear more than 100 times a day, so no, it isn't a turn off. I like swearing.
#24
Yes it is a turn off, it doesn't look great in civilized society.
I can totally understand swearing in frustration, anger or pain...

Swearing in conversation is just uncouth, I want be proud of my friends/partners... not think of them as louts.

I mean, it's not like I think they are dumb of they swear, I just think it makes them look dumb, which is a turn off for me.

I don't know if I made it less pretentious by explaining my post but if it's not then I guess that's just how I am.

If people feel the need to use expletives to express themselves or ideas they have, it does show a lack of vocabulary. Imagine someone telling a story about a mountain, however the only descriptive words they know are big and small and the only nouns they know (other than mountain) are rocks and grass.

Boring story, right?

How is it any more pretentious than any other criterion people use to filter out prospective mates? Get over yourself.

If I was describing a huge mountain I would say:

"So I saw this big fuck off mountain..."

Not due to a pathetic vocabulary, but because it just rolls off the tongue and is how I talk.
#32
I take it as a good sign when ppl at my school "swear," because there are a lot of Xians here, and if somebody "swears" it means they're probably never gonna end up asking if I "need prayer" or something.

Back in high school I used to think it made people sound dumb, but it turns out that was just because pretty much everybody around me was dumb. The "swearing" was incidental.

I don't know what a lot of this sentence means

Not my points. I was just using that as an example.
Someone is telling a story about their trip to the mall:
"So we pulled into the ****ing parking lot and the ass shit who parked next to me didn't have a ****ing clue as to how to drive their shitbag car and I hardly had enough ****ing space to back my shit into. We ****ing walked our asses into the Macy's and tried on some skirts and shit. Most of them were ****ing horrible and looked like shit and I was all like, 'Yo this place can eat a ****. Mother****ers can't make a decent ****ing skirt. Lets get the **** out of here. So we drove the **** back home."

Full of class and clearly a well articulated member of society

i like when girls swear when telling jokes and stuff, where it just shows they're not stuck up. BUT one of my biggest turn-offs is when girls say "****" I just hate it.
