Can you guys give me a quick introduction on this so I can understand it better? I have a Mesa Boogie RA100H and I want to know how I achieve both kinds of distortion and what are their qualities/uses? For example, for acquiring Power amp distortion I need to crank up the master of a mode, right?

Mesa Royal Atlantic
Emperor 4x12 Silver Bells
PRS Swamp Ash Limited Custom 24
EQD Acapulco Gold
MXR Carbon Copy
EHX Epitome
EHX Superego
Fuzz Hugger Algal Bloom

To acquire power amp distortion, you need to crank the overall Master so that your ears are bleeding. Also, power amp distortion is said to have more "sag". Think about a squishy bottom end.
Gibson Les Paul Studio
Highway One Telecaster
Dean Evo
Mesa F-50
Laney GH50L
Vox AC30 C2

Yeah, and as far as I've heard power amp distortion is more your classic rock sound, and pre-amp is more your modern sound. Pre-amp distortion you'd get with hot pickups and a boost pedal or something.
