Hello my friends.

Lately I have been playing with my band in a local studio and they have a Hiwatt Maxwatt G100R. The moment I plugged my guitar there I fell in love with it and now I am looking for one. I want this amp. I will probably even buy it used. But I can't find it nowhere!!
I checked guitarcenter, musicianfriend, zzounds, ebay.........

Where are you suppost to look for a Hiwatt?! Why can't I find one for sale?
I wish everyone...
Love, Peace.... and f**ing ROCK N' ROLL, baby! :HEADBANG:

Because they stopped making some models. Ya gotta go used, not that used is a bad thing, its generally better then new imo

I don't even buy new clothes...

Well, underwear and socks I suppose...

My shoes have a 100% leather upper, completely hand-made. $12

My boots are Redwing boots. That's a $400 pair of boots. Win.

There is currently one in the classified section of this site.

Also, whatever you do, do not go through Hiwatt. They are awful to deal with. I bought a JMI Tone Bender from them as they also own JMI, or JMI owns Hiwatt, I forget exactly. But I paid, (£200) and it was meant to be on next day delivery. Ordered it at the end of November and didn't get it until after New Year.

Reeves amps makes most of the classic models Hiwatt used to make plus a few that Reeves cooked up. Reeves uses milspec hand wired chassis just like the original Hiwatts. Reeves amps prices are not cheap but are far cheaper than trying to buy an older Hiwatt off of evilbay.

Huh. The Maxwatt is their equivalent of the MG.

And FWIW, they're discontinued and have been for several years IIRC.

Maxwatt. Reeves is alive and kicking. Making better amps with greater consistency than Hiwatt UK without the shady Music Ground backing for less money.

Nope. After Music Ground bought the name, they contracted a couple different builders to build them at various times until they started production in the UK, Reeves was one of them. Dunno what they were called then. But after Music Ground dumped them and started building Hiwatts in the UK, they (from what I've heard) got the blessing of the Reeves family to continue building them with the Reeves name.

The guys that make Reeves amps named the company after Dave Reeves to honor him.
