The layout looks really amateur and unappealing. Not really sure what all the buzz is about this site.

And I have no clue where and what I should be looking at

I've found that lots of people that are new to the internet (as in forums and memes and shit) are redditors. Not saying that all redditors are new to the internet, but lots of people I know are.

I, personally, am not a redditor, but sometimes I'll go there to check out the sweet stuff people post in the Minecraft section.

The only time I found it useful was when I was trying to find a mod for New Vegas that got removed from the Nexus because of copyrights

I don't understand how people have trouble with the layout. You go on it, all the links are right in front of you. Then there's a list of subreddits at the top if you want to filter your results.

Good tip for TS, unsubscribe from /r/atheism. Every single person in there is a high-horse utter twat.

And politics, and worldnews, and gaming, and wtf, and adviceanimals. And music was boring and there was never anything new in it.

Yeah, just unsubscribe from everything. The only ones I actually go on are pics, funny and soccer.

I don't like Reddit.

At first, the people that used it were young people, still in school, that typical internet user who's kind of socially awkward. Similar to 4chan. I prefer that. The jokes are more like South Park humor.

Now, everything is posted by "normal" people. People who are married, maybe with kids, have girlfriends, etc. The comedy is the equivalent to jokes I would see on shows like According To Jim or Everybody Loves Raymond. Especially in the FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU subreddit.

Titles will be "I hate when my wife does this" and it will be about something lame like leaving the toilet seat up.

Not to mention that half the jokes are about getting Karma, or Reddit itself. Plus a lot of redditors feel like they deserve a shitton of hipster cred for using such an unpopular site as Reddit.

Then I've seen shit upvoted to the frontpage that is OLD. Like, one time I saw that sneezing panda gif on the top page of r/funny.

And don' even get me started on the f*cking dreadful subreddit that is r/atheism.

I go there, and there are some subreddits I like. But the bigger ones get on my nerves.

Yes I am a redditor. A lot of stuff on the website is a huge circlejerk, but in my opinion its not hard to find good content. Also, it is a horrible horrible place when I am trying to get work done.

I love it. The format and everything is great.

I usually just go through the main page, but I also sometimes visit pictures, funny, science, and wtf.

Also, the 4chan reddit is great. I like /b/'s humour, but there is so much SHIT there as well, and that subreddit is just a collection of things that are (usually) funny from the site.

I think r/atheism is pretty great. It gets a lot of flak from some people, but I agree with almost all of the opinions there. I do agree, a lot of the same stuff is posted over and over, and it can get boring pretty quickly (havent been on in a few months cause of that)so after a long time of using it without stopping, you do see a lot of very similar content. However, when I do use it, I really like it. Don't see what people's problem with it is at all.

I had a friend on facebook a couple weeks back who every other one of his statuses was about Reddit. Like, "You guys don't even know (insert stupid meme here) is from Reddit, stop using it." and "Just got off Reddit, and for someone who actually HAS a life, I know way more about memes then anyone else"

Needless to say, this could is 99% douche, reddit just has to be his new douche medium cause slamming kids who are openly depressed contemplating suicide got 'too much flak'

EDIT: Why the hell would they need a specific section for 'athiesm' is this to get all the superdouches away into their own little group?

What? lol

I like the random/silly/offensive southpark-esque humour. I find it funny.
/b/ has plenty of it, but you have to sift through a lot of gore/porn/lame shit to get to it. The 4chan sub-reddit just collects a bunch of funny stuff from it that I enjoy.

What's the issue

Reddit is made up of a whole lot of sub-reddits. r/atheism is one of those sub-reddits and it's notorious for being a giant circle jerk of christian bashing. A lot of the big subreddits are pretty terrible and some of the novelty accounts are really terrible, but there's a lot of good stuff on there. I mostly just stick to r/AskReddit though, it's full of great stories.

Half the posts in Funny and f7u12 are about getting Karma or "lul this is me when I get my first upvote."
