Hey, I'm looking to get a 5 string bass for around 400e. I found this one but their is very little information about it.

Vintage V1005SP 5 String Bass

Main Specs are:
Neck: 5-Ply Thru-Neck, Nato/Maple.
Body: Mahogany Wings
Top: Spalted Maple (SP)
Scale: 34”/864mm
Fretboard: Rosewood
Frets: 24
Pickups: Wilkinson® Single Coil x 1/
Knobs: 1 x Volume/ 1 x Balance/ Active Treble/

I'm going to try it out tomorrow so I will get an idea of its playability. Is that wood combination good for a metal bass? Has anyone played this? I will be recording music in the style of In Flames, Nevermore, Trivium.

Played one similar to this at a local music store, wasn't too impressed tbh, but that could be down to the way it was set up. I preferred the Ibanez SR305 they had and as soon as I have the cash, I'll probably get one, costs slightly less even.

Not really what I'm looking for but good luck with the sale. I've some finger problems so I won't be playing bass much so I don't really want to spend more than 400.

If I wanted to listen to something slow, I'd play some hippie music.
