Am I missing something? I'm not sure what "this" is. Personally, I just use my Windows Media Player and make use of the half-speed and built-in EQ. But I'm always interested in anything that might make the task a little easier.
I personally use Transcribe! and I think it's great! In my opinion it doesn't "distort" or make the music sound as weird as Windows media player does when slowing things down.
You should try it out

I love Transcribe!
I use it often to practise/learn them tricky solos!
And of course you can play along with it as it retains the same pitch as the original
I use a free version of Wavepad. I am not sure if it's still available but it's pretty good. Includes looping and slowing down so that's perfect for transcribing.
