Hello all,

Quick question. I am refinishing a Epiphone Les Paul with a black back and gold top. I have the black back sprayed (turned out great). Just wondering how long I should wait to put tape on the black paint to spray the front gold? I used black Rustoleum Lacquer from a can - thank you for your time!

No, he's taping what he just painted so he can paint the top. Wait til it dries of course! Depends on the paint, and the conditions it's chillin (or cookin) in. If it's in a nice hot/warm place and the paint cures fast, it shouldn't take long. a couple hours and as long as it's good to the touch, I know I would give it a go. Although my experience with rustoleum is that it takes longer to cure.

Thanks for the replies. It's been 48 hours so I gave it a go. Time will tell when I peel it all off!
