we cant really say whats 'the best' imo...play as many as you can and choose which feels right and plays the best for you.

The ESP LTDs are pretty good guitars for low budget. Epiphone Les Paul is very different because it has a much thicker neck. Like the guy above said, try them out and see what fits your taste.

Depends on which Epiphone Les Paul.

But out of the ones you listed, i'd get the Viper 100

Out of your list, the Yamaha, easily.

But where are you located? Are you willing to go used? You can do much, much better with $300 if so.

Do you already have an amp?
If yes, which one? If no, which one are you planning on getting?
Are you willing to go used? If yes, where do you live?

Answer those questions, it'll be a lot easier to reccommend guitars that way.

In lieu of actual reccommendations, go to a local guitar store and try stuff out. We can't decide for you.

She will join the prom.

She insists to wear this lights.

I don't think so.

How can I persuade her?

The ESP's are really nice guitars. However i would recommend choosing one without a floyd rose tremolo unless you know how to tune it up and keep it in tune. They are a pain to change tunings with and change strings.

This is always the only answer that should be given in any thread asking for suggestions on what to buy.

The opinion of random strangers on the internet means nothing.

Agree with the first part.

Disagree with the 2nd.
Yes trying things yourself is the best way to work out what you like and what you don't but, especially when you're new to playing, you don't know what to look for in a guitar. We can, at the very least, offer some simple suggestions as to what to look for and what to avoid - e.g. avoid cheap double locking tremolos. Avoid guitar X because it's not great value for money, etc

I would check out the new Squier Vintage Modified series Strats . They're modeled after the 1970's Strats and have Duncan Designed pickups . I tried one out last week at Guitar Center and was blown away at how great it sounded. They're only going for $249.99 brand new and are definately worth the price.
