Hey, so I'm guessing a good percent of you are computer nerds that can help me.

I need to get something off my computer but my USB ports(?) aren't working.

The thing is when I plug a USB stick into them it makes the noise to show it recognizes one has been put in, it also does this when you take it out. But for some reason the window doesn't come up saying open folder to view files.
So I go to my computer to see if it's in there, no it isn't. I then went to device manager to see if that thought any are malfunctioning and that says all the ports are working.

BTW I've tried multiple USB sticks.

I just cant understand why it makes the noise to show something has been plugged in/taken out, but it doesn't ever recognize it.

I'm not great with computers so can you help me?

Sounds like you don't know how to find them,
you looked at My computer?
There should also be a small icon in the corner that shows the device has been connected which you can click to see if the driver is installed properly

Close this thread, it has been fixed.
To anyone who gets this problem:
Start.
Right click my computer.
Manage.
Disc management.
If you have a USB stick in it will be hidden in there somewhere.
Right click it.
Change drives and letter paths.
Change.
Then just pick a random drive letter that isn't being used a wallah.

Dude it means I promise by god.
I'm guessing you thought I was attempting to say voila. Why would anyone ever in history use a french word when it's not completely necessary?
