Hello people

So yeah, I ended up writing a song this weekend... It's more than a little bit folk too, inspired by writers like Neil Young, Laura Marling and Jeff Buckley. It's definitely my most honest song and was very easy to write for the most part... It intentionally changes from the first person to the third a few times.

Would love some feedback, and will gladly return the favour if you want me to.

Fool Am I

You sit around
And do as you're told
You're already on your own now
A four letter wonder
And to be this confident
Is to be forgiven
So tell me what is it like
To live and to die
With a lover at hand
On whose shoulder you cry

Fool Am I, Fool am I
Fool Am I, Fool am I
Fool am I
Not to try

You're alone and suffering
Powerless and weak
You're a prisoner to your hatred
and blind to your peaks
What a time to be wasted and shattered
What a colourless fortune
Awaits for me
Smiling in the shadows of silhouettes
And passing me by
With a kiss on my cheek
But a fork in my eye

Fool Am I, Fool am I
Fool Am I, Fool am I
Fool Am I
Not to try

Fool Am I, Fool am I
Fool Am I
Not to try
Not to try
