(sober thread)

would you start your life over at the beginning..

or not at all?

where and at what point would you start your life over, knowing what you know, now?

retaining my current knowledge? i'd definitely go right back to the beginning of my school life, showing up other 4 year old kids on my smarts, and id double learn everything, and then by the time i get to being 12 years old id like to not slack hardcore in school. along with all of this, practice guitar from the beginning.

I would go back and start electric guitar at 12 instead of acoustic.

I don't think I would. Sure, I've made some shit decisions and procrastinated too much, but I don't think any mistakes I've made have had a noticeable effect on where I am now. Loads of amazing, spontaneous, lucky stuff has happened that I might miss out on, cos I took some chances and made an ass out of myself a few times. And I cba to redo exams.

I would like to go back to when I was 10ish so I could be a total badass when I was even younger.

Oh my yes, I would go back to...about 6th grade or so. Times were so much simpler back then. But there are several things that if I had done differently would have greatly shifted my life. But if you believe in fate we're all right where we're supposed to be now aren't we.

I would start over at ninth grade. I could do so much better the second time around.

Im older and have made a lot of mistakes! This may save a lot of you heartache...

-wouldnt pick up piano not guitar when i was a child
-would take up vocals at a young age
-would not be an aggressive arrogant child alienating myself
-would try way harder in school to get all As
-would not dress like a metalhead to alienate myself further at school
-would travel the world before uni
-would learn languages in order to travel
-would take a professional qualification to avoid working in call centres
-would choose a career with my greatest skills
-would not buy a house purely for the recording studio
-would not spend £10k on music gear, when my ex was not even getting nights out
-make the very most of my 20s, as in your 30s time goes QUICKLY!
-would not take up music fulltime..its perfect as a part time occupation
-would be a two faced liar within the workplace to get further
-would realise that showing to be a hard worker gets you places not working hard
would not choose dates before mates
-would not stay on ultimate guitar til 5am eating food and getting to 270 pounds
-not drink and eat bad foods leadng to heart trouble
-would always get help from professional rather than taking the world on myself and failing.

would-go out with the right girl, for personality
-not be so obsessed with music, as now i have less passion for it
-eat sensibily and do a fair amount of sport
-brush teeth and floss to avoid cavaties
-improve appearance as much as possible as society is purely shallow now

I think for the good of mankind, everyone in this thread should -4(min) from their age, and tell us what they'd do from that point, then, if someone who was reading this WAS that age, they could live that year proper baddassly and shit.

Also, to be relevant; I ended up staying awake till about 7am this morning in bed because this question was on my mind, I'd go back to when I was 16, and fuck all those girls I had the chance to fuck but pussied out on cos of low self esteem (as well as other stuff, ofc, 16 sounds prefect though.. I'm 20 this october(wtf)). Hindsight is a BITCH.
