Im in need of some quick advice about my cab's wiring. Ordered a new jack plate attempting to troubleshoot the cabinet, It came with what looks like 18or 16 gauge wiring. Am I able to mix the thin stock wiring to connect the rest of the speakers together?
Mix away. Makes no difference. 16 gauge is overkill for wiring speakers in a cab. Because of the short lengths the gauge is not that that critical. The 18 is plenty adequate.
Thanks, I wasnt sure if a difference in the way the current flowed though the wire could make anything weird. I guess it would just be more wire in the 16/18 gauge ones. It was worth asking.
