I picked up an MXR SuperComp for £65 from Hanks guitar shop.

It definitely colors your tone, as they say. But I like it. I play primarily a Jackson, and it works well with it. I particularly like it for rhythm. But those long sustaining notes are great for leads too. I found it sounds better with the guitar plugged in directly, then into the amp, instead of the effects loop. When I use I with my boost pedal it really shines, which is nice for a very slightly OD'd Indie/Rock sound. The pedal also works veyr well with high gain sounds giving me a nice, tight squish.
