The industry lost a true giant. Jim Marshall, founder of Marshall Amplifiers, passed away at the age of 88. Marshall practically invented the sound of rock and roll with his amplifiers, and all of us - even bassists - owe him for that. Jim Marshall, you will be sorely missed.

Because many members of the bass forum stay in the bass forum, so as to avoid the crap that tends to go down outside of it. It works until the occasional disorientated guitarist manages to find himself in here (*wave*).

If you can't understand the relevance between the death of the guy that essentially pioneered the foundations on which modern amplifiers are built and marketed to the bass forum, then I don't think there's much hope for you.
