I'm thinking of making a guitar and I was wondering if it matters how far away the bridge is from the neck. If it does, does anyone know how far away is should be placed for the right sound and intonation etc. Any advice would really help thanks
Just to make sure...
Your neck/fretboard is always slotted to a certain scale length.
The scale length is the nut to the 12th fret, times two.

Some bridges require compensated placement, to allow proper intonation. Tune o matic bridges need to be further back on the bass side of the strings to tune correctly.
you can get away with a straight TOM bridge you know
its more for extended range guitar that you should angle it
