Apparently it's ~$600 to buy it new now a days. I've never seen this particular Les Paul before. Any thoughts?

And how would the sound differ between a Fender Telecaster MiM Ash or a Fender Modern Player Tele Plus? (I know, i know, they're two different guitar types.. but still..)

Considering there's another Custom for $100 less on your same Craigslist, not a major deal. I really doubt there's $100 worth of difference between the regular and the "Pro" model besides the finish.

As far as sound differences, they are so different that is not worth explaining how different they are. Think of the differences between a bicycle and a monkey, and then just apply those same principles to guitars.

It might be worth trying to find a newer one. I think in 2007 or 8 Epiphone started using tonepros hardware which is quite good. It's not a huge difference but there are a lot of people selling Epis, you may find one with the upgraded hardware for that price.

That said, 275 for that 96 is good. That's a lot of guitar for under $300.
