Hey

The drums in my room at the moment sound AWFUL. There's too much reverb. My room is in the attic, so the walls are hollow (the walls are quite thin with insulation).
Basically behind the walls is just empty space with insulation.

So what I'm thinking is to get acoustic foam to treat the room so my drums will sound better. However, will the acoustic foam do much for the hollow walls that I've got?
My room is around (length)6m x (width)3.5m x (height)2.5m.

I don't want to use Auralex or anything because they're too expensive.

"Tiles are sold in packs of 30

5.42 square metres (58.3 square feet) per pack

Tile size 425mm x 425mm x 45mm
or 16.73 x 16.73 x 1.75 inches

(coverage 1.9sq ft per tile) The dimensions of the profiles are 13mm base rising 32mm to the top of the profile and the pitch between the peaks being 35mm"

I'll probably need to get more than 30 of these foam tiles, but I'll wait to see what you guys think.

Thanks

you don't have to put them on every inch of your walls. just put them in the corners and in the middle of the wall and that's it.

Yeh, I've read that a recommended coverage is about 30-40% of the walls.
So, will the foam make a noticeable difference, or it just won't do much?

most people i have seen use it are in the background in youtube videos or on here they place them like they are decor. they have probably one pack of what you are ordering up there, and it likely isn't going to do a whole lot.

the biggest diferentce is if you are playing on cement or tile or a hard floor tile, put a rug down.

also to be really cheap you can use egg cartons, but IMO it looks trashy, but hey whatever works, works.
