This is a rough demo of a song I've been working on a lot lately. I wrote the main riff over a year ago, and its been changing ever since. I wanna know what you guys think about it, and if u like it or not (And if you could also tell me what u think of the mix, thatd be great!). Thanks guys!

as always Ill c4c.

the song is on my profile

Me gusta, that was pretty awesome. The only thing I think you should look into is including one more short solo before the solo you already have. Just overlayed on what you already have. It just feels like this song should have an after chorus solo, or an intro solo, but that's just a creative suggestion, what you have now is good. Def oldschool too.

hey thanks alot man I appreciate the crit! I was thinking about adding a second solo somewhere, one thats a lot shreddier, and more modern sounding. The main solo is just like idk my take on what randy rhoads mixed with like a weird van halen/generic pentatonic 80s shredder haha. I like the idea of putting a solo right before the current one. The song WILL have vocals (Im using it with my band) eventually, so it will depend on how the vocals sit on the song.

Really cool riffs there mate!! gave a really oldschool metal feeling and I just heard the Rob Halfordish vocals in my head ringing to the riffs I thought the idea of having a bass intro was cool but it might would have been cool to use a completly different bass riff as intro

I liked your solo But i also felt that you maybe should have had an "introducing solo" just before that one

Cool outro! ;D

awesomo4184,
The playing could be a little tighter at times, but I dig the guitar riffs. Some good vocals would be nice. Lead guitar playing is good, though that lead is a bit too loud. Please review my (80's-ish) music at this link:

Thanks for the crit man! I reviewed your stuff. I agree that the solo is a bit too loud, and vocals will be added eventually.

Thanks a lot man! I critted ur stuff!

I TOTALLY agree with you that it could use a bit of an introducing solo, OR even just a better intro to the current solo.
I like ur idea with the bass riff, I never thought of that.
And haha I TOTALLY envisioned singing similar to halfords myself! haha

some of your fills are out of time and your main riff sounds awfully familiar to another. I hear a lot of "crazy train".

I agree its kinda a generic riff, however I disagree about the crazy train thing, I dont hear much of that, some what in the key, and the solo a bit also, but not in the main riff.

Damn, pretty catchy riff at the beginning, started to bang my head instantly.Nice bass intro also.I think the solo should've been a little bit quieter. All this song really needs is a good vocalist..
Overall pretty solid playing and catchy riffs. 8/10.

thanks man I agree, the solo needs to be quieter, and HONESTLY I'm going to rewrite the solo, once my band gets a singer, and we record this song AS A BAND. I did everything on this recording myself (the bass, the guitar, the drum programming). Thanks for the crit man

Sounded 80's for sure! I think it worked great for examplyfing a typical 80's sound, but not as well as a song in itself. Not easy to do a completely instrumental song of this style, it needs vocals. If you were to add good vocal melodies to some of the riffs and make them more clearly "verse" and "chorus" I could hear this song being real catchy. As it is now, a bit plain. Bass parts were a little sloppy, but I understand that you are a guitarist first and foremost. Liked most parts of the solo though!
