Anyone who buys fretwire based on anything other than looks is buying into snake oil.

Absolutely.

It just happened to be attached to a guitar.

My pickguard screws are cryotreated for haunting mids. I also replace all my fret markers with premium MOP-in-oil for superior tone.

Pickup screws? I just glue 2 little airbags to the bottom of the pickup, and the other side to the guitar. Then I just blow up or release air to raise each side of the pickup. I don't like to see the "work" that goes into the guitar so to speak. Same reason the knobs and pickup switch got moved to the back of the guitar.

^I like this man.

Fretwire is incredible important. My fretwire is hand-carved from the holy grail from the last supper. So much tone.

I only buy artist "signature" fret wire.
If I miss one day of practice, I notice it.
If I miss two days, the critics notice it.
If I miss three days, the audience notices it.

I've got a gopher wood guitar that could use some of that...

It's got sustain for...like... 40 days and 40 nights...

Fret wire is very serious. I use the exact premium handpicked wire that Slash uses.

Slash's fretwire is made up of bits of his autobiography.
