Hey

I love this stuff, but its always so expensive from the actual Chinese takeaways. I've tried buying like, curry sauce mixes and stuff, but they're never the same. Are there any brands that do a similar sauce to the ones in Chinese takeaways? (not the same as fish and chip shop curries) Or have any of you got a recipe or anything that you know tastes the same?

Thanksss

they make their own shit bro

if you wanna make your shit like their shit you need to find out how they make their shit

and the shit my local takeaway makes is no doubt different to the shit you want

This man speaks sense.

Although I by no means support the contraction 'y'dig'

Although on a serious note chinese chicken curry could mean any number of dishes, it might well be a local invention and nothing to do with chinese cuisine, does it have a proper name?

Since when was Chinese food expensive? The most I have ever had to pay for a single dish was about $8 and it was shared between two people.

Take jar of curry sauce, add submachine gun, add to chicken. A perfect Chinese chicken curry, would you not say?

We make the sauce ourselves. Most of it is made from Curry Powder, oranges and spices with cornflour for added thickness. You cannot buy the stuff.

It's unnatural natural habitat of lemons is in lemonade, natural habitat of chickens is on cartoon network. The only logical conclusion is that god disproves.

Ramen noodle soup > everything ever.

And not the packaged crap; I'm talking about the stuff you get in restaurants.

Lemon chicken is good and all, but my Chinese heritage tells me sweet and sour pork is the way to go.

You know curry isn't Indian only. It's made all over South East Asia.

Wahhhh?

Indian curry is so synonymous with curry that when someone says, "let's go get a curry" they mean Indian.

Hell the only reason I referred to it's origin is to differentiate it from Chinese.

Chinese curry has lots of turmeric in. Not so much coriander as indian curries and no tomato. Easiest way to replicate it is to use a mild curry powder and add more turmeric. At least, that would be similar to the chinese takeaways near me.

Also lots of MSG too >______>

The first time I had any kid of curry was at a Thai restaurant, so being the noob I am, I just referred to it as Thai curry. I can't find an Indian restaurant anywhere in town but I've always wanted to try their food.
