Hey guys this is my first attempt at dubstep so I would like some feedback please, and don't criticise my synths and sounds because I only used garageband and the sounds on that aren't great to be honest.

Too slow!? Haha its 140bpm the standard dubstep tempo, but i suppose it is a bit slow and chilled!

And yea I will do actually, I've got reaper and I'm going to get massive so that will be better for me

Really, oh sorry

Yeah, reaper is the best you can get for free/little money!

Hey man,

I think you really just need some quantization on these synth melodies first of all. It sounds a little like you're just mashing on a MIDI keyboard, and if you're going to do that you're going to need quantization or it'll come out all out of time. That might be a limitation with GarageBand I have no idea, but yeah the timing is probably the major criticism I have.

I like that little collegehumor sample, you need more little cool things like that to make the track more interesting. If you find garageband too limiting, I'd suggest using either Reaper or FL Studio if you can get it. Both have an absolutely massive range of sounds and are really intuitive for making Electronic stuff.

If you could check out my track and let me know what you think I'd appreciate it, it's not exactly dubstep but it has some influences in that direction.
