BLUE SKY BLUES

They say love is in the air
Because spring is in bloom,
But the smell of flowers
Reminds me of a funeral.
I prefer how the world looks
During the wintertime,
'Cause it seems like a clean slate
Blanketed in pure white snow.

No remnants of the innocence
The pureness all turned to gray slush,
Then melted to a river of filth
To quell the world's vile tongue.

So keep your lips locked to mine
For as long as you can,
While we kiss goodbye
Any brotherhood we had.

I saw the torn carcass
Of the Easter rabbit;
Tried to lead us to Jesus
But the beasts wouldn't have it be.
I miss the frigid cold
'Cause when the weather warms up,
The criminals come out
And it storms a reign of blood.

Forecast in the obtituaries
It's another spring shower,
Angels are falling from the sky
For the Earth to devour.

So keep your lips locked to mine
For as long as you can,
While we kiss goodbye
Any brotherhood we had.

interesting perspective when you say spring is a funeral. which is true because of the spring burials occur when the grave digger can dig the earth once the soil is unfrozen. winter time is a great season too when its sunny an the trees are covered in snow. kinda has a sense of rebirth.
