I decided to go with the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz V 5 string bass! So far, I am not regretting it

The reason I ended up with this one was that A) I got a really good deal on it and B) you guys convinced me haha. But yeah. I went on Ebay, found a brand new one that had Best Offer, submitted an offer of 250 USD, and bam!

I have already tested the bass out by recording a demo from my band's debut album which we are still working on. You can listen to that demo here:

It is under the name "The Black Feather"
It's metal but don't worry, it's instrumental at the moment xD

I think this bass sounds amazing in a mix!

Now for my short review on it.

First, it is a BEAUTIFUL bass guitar. Actually it is a beautiful instrument in general. The way the black looks with the nice natural finish and maple neck is just great. The block inlays with the black binding fits really well too.

Right off the bat, this bass has an outstanding tone. Not much EQ tweaking is needed unless you're going DI, which I did. I ended up cutting some of the lows a bit to prevent clipping during recording and later EQ'd them back in and it worked great! I absolutely love the tone I got.

The downside is that there is quite a bit of buzzing on the Low B but I'm not sure if this is just from the dealer messing with it since it was a display model or not. That's really my only complaint. Otherwise it is a perfect instrument, in my opinion, and I am in love with it! Squier has won my respect

Now for pictures!

Hmm...May 27th to May 20th? Either you meant 30th or you're some kind of time traveler.

When you break a bass string, that snapping sound is the sound of six dollars going down the crapper.

It doesn't feel that big. It's pretty slim and it's just a tad bit wider than my 7 String Flying V's neck. I have no trouble playing it.

And thanks guys
