The Hagstrom Ultra Swede is a good guitar, but I haven't found any other Hagstroms about which I can say that - basses included. The first Hagstrom I ever played was back in '78, and the body was covered in Naugahyde. No, I'm not kidding. Naugahyde!

I think I'm going to go for that Warwick Katana 4-string. Hey, Warwick Official: what kinds of hard cases can I get for that bass? Or should I just go for a generic plastic road case? I don't want to put an expensive and uniquely-shaped bass in a "one size fits all" case if I can avoid it.

Hello WarwickOffical and anyone else that might want to answer this.

I am looking at the possiblity of getting a warwick bass. I have seen a 2007 4 String Thumb Bolt-on bass for sale in my general area for the range of $1500. I am wondering is it worth it for this bass/year? I am pretty certain I want a warwick as i fell in love with them back in around 2002 or so when my favorite player at the time played one (Sam Rivers)

Hello davo339. It sounds like a fair price, to me...but also not my position to make such a judgement. Is it possible for you to test the bass out in person? Really, it comes down to whether you connect with the instrument...and it allows you to speak your voice as a musician. We are quite proud to have Sam Rivers as an endorser - on a side note, check out our FB page, where we are currently giving away a mini-thumb bass signed by Sam Rivers! facebook.com/warwickframus Please let me know if there is any way I can assist you. Thanks!

Glad to hear it FatalGear41! I've submitted a request to our distributor to see what might be available for needs. I'll reply as soon as I hear back. Thanks for your patience!

Ah well, can't win them all. Now it's a case of finding a use for the low B in the six string sets

Speaking as a model-maker(and total novice bass player), wound strings look great as dirty great cables in sci-fi themed vehicles and dioramas.

Probably no use to you, but it's one alternative use for 'em.

I will be going to check it out in person tomorrow, I will more than likely fall in love with it. I was just curious as to $1500 was a fair price for the model/age which you had answered. Thank you! I have also entered the contest for the mini Thumb! It looks pretty cool haha.

The current Hagstrom offering is sub £400, and I've never had my hands on a good one.

Bollocks, My beluga IIF bass retails at 599gbp..... Admittedly Hags are an acquired taste, but the build quality is excellent.

Will this also lead the way to a direct Custom Shop service?

Db: Yes! Custom Shop sales will be available directly through the new Online Store! Please let me know if there is anything I can assist you with. Thanks!

Db: Thanks for an excellent question! Yes...if you come for a factory tour and decide you'd like to place a custom order, you can hand select the wood you'd like on your new instrument! Please let me know if I can assist you in any way!

Looks good.

As Jon (Spaz91) commented on earlier, will there be a Warmoth style "custom bass" builder, allowing someone to put in the "standard" custom options (found on the pricelist) to get a price, and maybe a visualisation of the finished product as a guide?

Plus, will purpleheart be added as a standard wood option for the neck, as Dick Lovgren's Dolphin looks AWESOME with the purpleheart neckthrough.
#62
Db - I will try to get as many specifics as possible and come back to you. Thanks for all the great questions! Keep them coming!
#64
Db - Thats definitely a question for Robert! He's taken quite a fancy to his Warwick's and now has quite the collection. As we say at Warwick: "If you can dream it, we can build it!" : )

Besides the pickups and finishes, are there any differences between the Streamer the and the Rob Trujillo sig? Or the Corvette and FNA Jazzman? Just wondering why they get their own categories in the gallery.
#67
Most of the signature models have their own designation in the product line-up. Rob prefers a different bridge, and also the nickel frets as Db stated. In the Gallery - The FNA Jazzman is no longer offered as a standard model, and with its different pickup configuration it was unique from the standard Corvette. The Gallery has been getting more focus lately, and will become more accurate as we continue to focus our efforts there. Hope that helps! Let me know if you've got any other questions. Thanks!
#68
Would you be able to put up the prices of how much the custom instruments cost? Or is that private? I hope to be a customer of the custom shop some day and I need to know when to start saving up. The price sheet is too big and baffling for me.
#69
Spaz91 - I can certainly mention it to the web team. Of course, the best way to really know what range you'll be in, is to talk with a dealer about spec'ing something out. They can give you the best idea of what options are possible and their costs. You can always contact the NY Custom Shop as well! Thanks!

This is probably more a question for Robert Trujillo... but why so many Streamers in weird ass finishes?

Here's a shot Robert just sent us from the Metallica tour in Mexico, playing his new Signature model, with a bronzed El Dorado motif:

Hey Warwick.
Just say for instance, I was taken over by aliens or had a brain haemorrage or somesuch, and I wanted to spunk a load of my bank account over a Star Bass, could I have it with a Framus badge on? No 'W' marks of any sort?
No offence meant, but I started playing bass in the 80's when cretins in shiny suits wore Warwicks on 3" long straps, above the nipple datum. No amount of Rob T or anyother of the cool kids can ever erase that nightmare.
And I wouldn't want that particular nightmare visited on what would undoubtedly be a very fine and expensive bass.

Maybe I'll just stick to my trusty old Fender...

Hey I'm having a slight problem with my Corvette, the 2 band eq board started to smoke and melt the epoxy that covered the board. Have you heard of an eq board just failing like that? I have a couple of options as to how to fix it but I wanted to ask an expert first.

joey-only, This is the first time I have ever heard something like that - Can you tell me the year of your bass, and serial number? It sounds like a component has failed/fried or there was a short.

I am the sole individual responsible for participating in the main English-language forums - I have a colleague in Germany who covers the German-language forums, and together we make up the bulk of the social media team. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can assist you in any way. Thanks!

not sure of the year but the serial number is H 902944-09, the two options I was considering were to replace the eq or to put in two EMG HZ 40s, remove the eq and only use the volume and blend knobs.

joey-only, the database doesn't recognize that serial number, though it should be a 2009 model. Can you double-check that for me? Thanks!
#80
yeah I think it's a 2009 Warwick Rockbass Corvette Active Standard 5 String.
