No, what's with you wanting my campaign setting to be based on Avatar?

I... don't?

It just sounds like Avatar. Mishmash of basically everything east of the old Iron Curtain.

I don't even like Avatar. I think it's annoying how rabid the fanbase of it is.

Fair enough.

I wish Pathfinder was a bit more flexible so I could change it to fit my campaign idea.

Well, I mean, I've got a Paranoia campaign I've been trying to start. Hit me up in a PM for details.

As I previously stated, I would also be up for this game of Paranoia. I had a quick look over and it does look interesting.

The Computer Phreaks are clearly the only viable secret society to join, because of how l33t we all are.

What is this talk of secret societies I hear, citizen? Are you not aware that membership in a secret society is treason and therefore grounds for summary execution?

That's what I like about 1e. Pathfinder is a more refined 3.5 but with so much information, it can box you in sometimes. I enjoy making shit up and using the rules more as guidelines. The vagueness and general nonsensical aspect of a lot of 1e rules really fits this for me.

You are clearly Commie traitor scum, citizen. Hopefully, though, your replacement clone will not be.

You'd be surprised how often that happens to me.

What was that, citizen?

Citizen, you are hereby ordered to rethink your behavior. Friend Computer does not enjoy killing Its wonderful friends here in Alpha Complex, but It will grudgingly resort to it in the extremely rare chance It needs to. But It hates doing it. The Computer is your friend. Your best friend. You can't trust other citizens, but you can trust Friend Computer.

What is your security clearance, citizen? The exact sheen of Friend Computer's screen is knowledge that has been marked as security clearance Green. As you certainly know, knowledge above your security clearance is treasonous.

It's a lot of fun. Although it's a tough call to figure out whether someone's statements deserve death. Depends on how funny the result would be.

Interrogation is the best part, though.

Fück yeah, Pathfinder! I play once a week with a few mates, have a few brews, slay some enemies. Good timess.

I'm playing a fighter at the moment.

Has anyone else played Shadowrun before?

No, but it's something I've been interested in for like ever.

I think I pissed off NothingRocks during his 4e campaign by how many times I suggested we play Shadowrun for a change.

Shadow Run is amaaaazzziiiinnngg. It has a lot more (at least the way we played it) investigation and you have to have your wits about you the whole time due to scanners/drones etc. It's really good if you have a great DM.

Is Shadowrun the sci-fi/high fantasy setting that they made in to a FPS for the Xbox 360? It seemed like a cool premise but the 360 game was a bit meh.

Yeah I believe that's correct.

Just googled it, it is what I was referring to and it does look awesome. If someone's planning to run a game of Shadowrun I'd definitely be up for it.

How do you guys play it online? I'd be keen but it might be awkward with time zones since I'm in Australia...

That's because it was very meh. In fact, it was shit.

For a good Shadowrun video game, play either the one for SNES or the one for Genesis/Mega Drive. Like a lot of other multiplatform games at the time they were released, they're different than each other.

The only contact I had with tabletop gaming is playing Neverwinter Nights on the PC. I liked the D&D setting and rules but it seems they have changed them or something.

They use 3e rules, which are better than 4e rules. But 3.5e is better. But Pathfinder (affectionately known to some as 3.75e) is even better.

And it's in the Forgotten Realms setting, which isn't exactly my favorite setting, partly because it's massively overused. They should've made a game based on Dark Sun. They did a Planescape game (which was awesome) but not a Dark Sun one? SMH.

Pathfinder uses the same rules with some addendums (Classes got buffed or nerfed, some skills got fixed, like listen and spot being drawn together into perception).

Pathfinder is definitely the most refined system but it kind of bores me. I'm playing tomorrow, begrudgingly, and I've already signed on to play in a friend's semester long campaign. I look forward to my 1e games way more. Maybe I've never had a decent Pathfinder DM.

I take a lot of liberties with the rules. Like when our party outran a volcano... That was fun. I should have you outrun things more often.

Our party is composed of:

A level 7 Catfolk Ranger

A level 7 Human Cleric of Odin (Weather and Healing)

A level 7 Halfling Rogue with a penchant for frontal combat

A lvl 7 wizard who is reclassing into a 5/2 Sorcerer Dragon Disciple (I think?)

A level 6 Wilder who likes to pretend he's tetsuo and throw doors at people

And I think we're being joined by a lvl 5 fighter.

It's been a fun ride so far.

Here's my character's physical description:

Young
Medium length straight brown hair.
Bright blue eyes
No facial hair
A few mostly healed scars on his face, arms, and legs.
Elven ears
A little tall and skinny(but with defined muscles)
Always wears a silver necklace, a magic amulet, and a silver engraved ring.

I wish psionics weren't so broken. I've played with a really high level wilder and it was ridiculous.

Awesome! Here's a general description of her:

In her early 20s
Fairly tall and thin
Long, straight brown hair
Green eyes
Carries a spear
Holy symbol is a ring similar to James's character's
Wears a cloak

I like the new edition. Assault marines are useful, non-eldar non-chaos psykers are useful, speeders will be useful... It just feels more rounded. Also, massive tank nerf.

I'll let you know if we start another one!

Meh, I'll stick to playing Rogue Trader.
