So after a discussion about guitars and amps with a mate last night, i sat down and roughly worked out how much it would cost to buy my setup brand new out of a shop/online.

after 20 or so mins i came up with a rough figure of £7000. To me this doesn't seem like a lot for the average set up.

i have become increasingly curious as to how much other people have spent on their rigs. What better place to ask than here? right?

Rules:
All guitars, amps and effects etc. are to be priced at market value

All custom built equipment are the cost of parts if you built them yourself, or what you paid for it if someone else did it.

Only the current valves in your amps can be counted. not old/unused ones.

Everyone has spent most of the cost of their rig on picks and strings so dont include those.

If you can post a list or pics of your rig.

GO!!

ps. sorry if this has been done before.

Crate Gt412sl- None on ebay or craiglist so, $200
Mxr Classic OD- 30 bucks new so 15?
Dunlop Crybaby with fasel- 50 bucks
JJ El34 and 12ax7- 25 bucks
Epiphone les paul standard with gibson pups-300 bucks if im lucky
20 bucks in cords.

I'm gonna do what I paid, which usually isn't retail...

Classic Player 60s Model Strat - ~$300
Blues Junior w/ upgraded speaker and tubes - ~$400
Proco Rat - $50
Dist+ - ~$50
Muff - ~$50
Dano TOD V1 - Traded for it but we can say ~$50
Small Clone - $90
DD-3 - $70
Memory Boy - $120
A/B - ~$30
Bypass Looper - ~$30

Total: $1240

I'm surprised its that high to be honest. I'd like to sell all my pedals, because I don't use them anymore. If and when I do I'll have just about the best sounding $700 you can find.

Don't have the white strat anymore.

Somewhere in the $6,000 mark.

That's no where near what I've spent on past gear and accessories though.

Crate CR-212-$150
B.C.Rich warbeast w/case- $500
DOD FX-69- $40
Home-made switch box- $30
Ibanez PR-1660 w/case - $800
Ibanez GT10DXR combo - $50

My rig is only worth $1570, and if it weren't for my dad's stuff it'd only be worth like $680

Damn, I just realized that the only part of my rig worth anything was inherited from my dad. The warbeast was a christmas present. I bought the crate myself. I made the switch box. The pedal the GT10 and the pr1660 were all my dads.

I'm pretty proud of how reasonable my rig is. It will be even better if I get rid of those damn pedals. Guitar and amp is only $700 and I've heard rigs costing double that that don't sound as good (American strat + HRD usually.)

I will never get married again either. If this one doesn't work out I'm going to live with Cath.

your rig is pretty solid. i like the bjr. you could use a marshall studio 15 at some point, then you wouldn't need any dirt pedals really, ok maybe a couple for good measure.

that's the amp you want. it would be a good compliment to the blues jr imo.

one bit of advice, if you do get divorced, make sure you do it before you have any children.

just trust me on that one.

I've been wanting a Studio 15 ever since you had one. They go for a good bit more than I'd be willing to put into a 'dirty' amp though. I really only play clean.

Noted.

At my high, it was something like $60k. Down to a bit more than half that now with more on the way out. Still have like $15k in pedlulz. Trying to get down significantly though. If I sell everything I need to get rid of for a reasonable price, I'll be down to $17-18k total.

Selling them to help pay for the new car. Probably gonna pick something up this weekend. With that and the money I'll get from selling the boat, truck and Mustang and the money my bros owe me, I'll have enough to buy two of all of the cars I'm looking at.

one bit of advice, if you do get divorced, make sure you do it before you have any children.

It's my current belief that everyone wanting to invest in a relationship should wait for about 6 months of dating before sex. Sex releases oxytocin, a bonding agent, which may cloud your judgement. Next thing you know, it's 10 years later and that bitch is ****ing some other guy and wants your house to boot.

And lets face it, the first few dates both parties are just trying to fool the other into another date. It may take months to sort through all that mess.
