Since it's going to happen anyways... I would classify all of them as terrible.
Jake Pitts is a decent guitarist and it's all downhill from there.

All of them are the worst.

They're a fad band, they make money not by writing good music, but by creating a brand that naive kids love. Though the music it's self isn't too bad. It's that shithead front man's attitude and shit singing voice that makes them hateful.

They're about as deep as a puddle of vomit.

1.Knives and Pens
2.Coffin
3.Youth and Whisky
4.New Religion
5.God Bless You
6.Beautiful Remains
7.We Stitch These Wounds
8.A Devil For Me
9.Hello my Hate

I don't get the hate for them. I bet they make better music than you. They made it in the music business and got somewhere. Save the hate for a group with really no talent.

Entirely subjective, but personally I'd rather listen to my music than their watered down metalcore. The reason they're so popular is because surface level, young teen, scene kids think they're edgy, and that they "get them". Tell me, what kind of person really wants to attract 14 year old girls?

So did Justin Beiber. Being popular is not a sign of musical quality, it's a sign of being able to play the market.

I have a strange opinion about this band. First I really REALLY love that there is a modern glam band out right now. A lot of people like they're music but don't like their look, I'm the opposite. The modern rock scene is really boring, mainly because of the minimalistic and nerd-chique of the indie rock movement. That being said, I think any band had the potential to have BVB's popularity simply because the music scene is completely barren of any rockstars. The music itself isn't bad, just Andy's voice and lyrics about being bullied (I mean come on, the guy is way too good looking to ever know what it's like to be bullied). I was happy when I heard fallen angels though, sounded like a cool 80's rock anthem.

He actually was bullied. In middle school. Then he went to a performing art's school after that (where he actually studied voice, you couldn't tell from his singing though), I doubt he was bullied there. So basically he can't get over middle school. That's not rock n' roll.

Yes but they make good music. We all have our own opinions, I accept that, but why all the hate? Why do people hate BMTH? And they're dressing the way they want to. I don't see people making as many comments when it comes to Marilyn Manson (he attracts a different age) but still. But if people don't like the looks, don't look at them, simple. Just listen to the music, that's the entire point.

Well they played to the market and they got in. That's nothing bad, it's how many people live.

If haters come and bash other bands that they don't like, why bother? Waste of your time and other peoples and they make life a misery.

Because they write bland generic music and focus on being popular with their fans more than writing music.

Less people hate BMTH, I like BMTH personally because they sound different to every other bad in their genre, or did when they first came out, most people have got over not liking them by now. So if nothing else I don't dislike BVB just because they are trendy.

Because it means they got popular because of something other than their music, which is the main point of being in a band

Because they flat out don't deserve it, they're not good musicians, they're a good marketing force. Also there is a certain level of hypocrisy in saying, "I know everyone can have an opinion, but you should only post positive ones."

Clear example of how my generation does not understand Rock n' Roll. No famous Rock n' roll group has ever made it on music alone.

They're music is "bland"? I may be a fan but if a band does play the kind of music they make, bland is probably one of the last words I use. They have dodgy songs (lyrics are a bit dumb) but the music they make are good (IMO).

"focus on being popular with their fans more than writing music" Surely that's what many bands do (not if they're new to the industry). Experimental music has been proved not to go down well with fans. If you want examples, I'll give you some.

From what I heard, people don'tlike BMTH but thanks for telling me about them. No one gives proper reasons, they give insults.

"Because they flat out don't deserve it, they're not good musicians" Okay, sorry but that has to be an immature answer. If they're not good, why are they in the charts? (And don't go "cos they got hundreds of 13 year-old fans" as a reason.) If they're not good, why are they performing at festivals? If they're not good, how come you're not doing better than them? If you're so high and mighty, you try and make it and beat them. Then you can say that kind of stuff. We, as the audience, are full of wants and needs and the musicians have to appeal us. Sure they can't appeal all of us, but they have that work to do.

"I know everyone can have an opinion, but you should only post positive ones." I agree that there should be negative comments, but not 'he's a ****' and that rubbish. And I agree that there shouldn't be positive comments like 'Oh, he's so beautiful'. This is about the music (or the market forces if you're like that).

One last thing. Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy. He has a great voice, so much talent, and he quit the music industry because he could not live life how he wanted to. He lost weight and people threatened him to get it back. They're the haters I have no respect for.

I think it's best if we stop. You can say whatever but let's stop before it gets too idiotic.

I think you're missing the point, I'm explaining why people dislike this band, which was the question you asked. I'm not going to force you to agree with me or stop liking the band. But in the end it boils down to the reason they're popular is not because of their music, which is a rather bland imitation of A7x (that kinda Glam mixed with Metalcore vibe), but it's because of their image, it's a boy band with Pedal riffs, there is little musically exciting about them. The people who tend to talk about music on the internet are either Metal Head Elitists or Music Nerds who know what they like and why they like it, they are not the market for BvB, so that's why they get the hate.

I don't mind the morticians daughter and knives and pens. Beyond that, they just seem style over substance to me. I'm old enough now that image isn't at all important to me, and other bands play stuff I enjoy more.
Dude, where's my band?

I like BVB. i take most of my values as musicians after them. not about money, not about sex. its about being there for people (our fans) and about making people feel good. if you are feeling down about something, pop in our cd, forget about the world and rock out.

1.Rebel Love Song
2.Coffin
3.Fallen Angles
4.Perfect Weapon
5.Ritual
6Set The World on Fire
7.Morticians Daughter
8.The Gunsling
9.Knives and Pens
(note, i can go on forever with these songs. but theres a huge list in my head of best-worst. this only the 1st out of 4th)

Plus, People who only listen to Knives and Pens, and say they're a huge fan... you're not. A huge fan is who actually listens to all of their stuff, and takes a moment to figure out what the song is about. so if you only listen to Knives and Pens, and say you are a huge fan, kill yourself. This is my view about this.

You're listening to the wrong band and have been brain washed by, what is in reality, a quite clever image and marketing campaign.

If they were really there for the music they'd come up with something far better than bland metalcore.

I wouldn't say anything but you've obviously been duped. They write music and look the way they do because they know that insecure teens will "get it" and buy their albums. How can you not see that?

i have my opinion, and you have yours. if they want to do what they want to do. im okay with that. we dont need people like you to be hating on something you don't agree with. this is the problem... metalheads need to stick together. we are being divided my opinions and people arguing about what music other people like. if you like, oh lets say, Pierce The Veil, im not a fan of them. i just don't like the general sound of them. but im not going to go on every Pierce The Veil thread and hate on them. im going to keep my opinions to myself as best as possible. and i think you should do the same. Unite, not divide.

I don't hate the sound, I just care for it.

What I don't like it is that they are manipulating the insecurities of young teens in order to make money whilst making dull music.

And you're falling right into it with the whole "BvB are the saviors of metal and you guys are all haters, you just don't understand them just like people don't understand me" thing. Which is exactly what I'm talking about. It's basically brainwashing and it's one of the key reasons that most people hate BvB and their fans. The music is harmless, their attitude is annoying and pretentious.

Also just as a side note, liking BvB does not make you a metalhead... neither does Pierce the Veil for that matter.

Cool story, bro. You're on a music site, do you think you're the only one who listens to more than one band and writes music? xD But you did use BvB in relation to Metalhead, the implication is pretty clear.

ChemicalFire, I think you're out of touch with reality. Scene kids barely exist anymore. Also, glam has existed for decades, it's not something BVB invented to make money. I do believe their image is used for their advantage to get bigger, but why is that a bad thing? Other bands that are image conscious are: Bowie, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Queen, Guns n Roses, Slayer, Kiss, Billy idol, Sex pistols, etc. It seems that you're trying to generalize on what type of people listen to BVB with a narrow minded view.

Oh, and unfortunately they are definitely one of the few bands out there keeping rock and metal alive. Because we have forgotten how important image is to Rock n Roll we're letting it become a boring genre. Look at how Deadmau5 is popular. That used to be how Rock n' roll was viewed, something crazy and abnormal.

P.S. I really can't believe I'm defending BVB, their music is meh.

They do, scene kids will always exist, it's just the definition changes subtly, normally it's someone who'll get heavily into a music genre that's deemed edgy, but isn't really a "real" music fan. 5 Years ago a scene kid would of been a big MCR fan... now they're a BvB fan. And if they don't exist... why do I keep meeting them?

I don't think I ever claimed that BvB invented Glam to make money...

Also if you compare BvB to Bowie, Ozzy and Queen you're completely missing the damn point. They actually wrote songs... they weren't style over substance, they were style WITH substance. All those bands you listed are considered important to music... BvB write Bad Metalcore and write generic lyrics that are manufactured to appeal to "edgy" 15 year olds. And I'm not making judgments on the fans, I'm making a judgement on the band.

You strawman'd hardcore there.

Rock N Roll now is pop music. Rock N Roll used to be the big thin, Elvis, The Beatles, not alternative stuff, very main stream.

BvB are NOT the saviors of anything and are in no way doing anything positive for music.
