Here is the REAL thread for photos of your pedalboards! Seeing as the pedalboard thread has nothing to do with pedalboards..

Rules:
1)Only post a photo (and a rundown if you feel you want to say something).
2)Feel free to ask questions about previous posters pedalboards, but keep it on topic.
3)There is no 3.
4)If there was no 3, why would we need a 4?

Pfft. I just plug straight into an amp. The way it's supposed to be done.

That is really my harp board but I also use it with guitar for screwing around at home. My gigging "pedalboard" is a rack.

You can't see it in the photo but there is a string of pretty blue LED's under the top panel.

Don't mind the cat posing there. I don't even know how he can tell I'm taking pictures...

I only ever use three pedals on my board. Blackstar HT-Dual, Boss Dual Overdrive and the MXR Smart gate. Err. I use the tuner as well, so I use four pedals.

I'd also like to note that I have a DOD 31 band EQ sitting on top of my amp.

So, here's a question for everyone: Do you really need all these pedals? Do you turn them on everytime you play or are they just for fun?

I can't remember the last time I used my Wah, Whammy and Big Muff. I don't even know why I keep them on there. Maybe one day I might use them, who knows.

that's a different topic. let's keep this thread to just pedalboard porn.

and i'm sorry if i come across as brash, but if we don't actively keep on topic, this thread's just going to devolve into a spam thread like the PBT. which was the reason that this thread was created.

Yes, I remember once reading the pedalboard thread in hopes of seeing some sweet boards but only came across weird inside jokes... it's like a fat rich men golf club where they talk about everything but golf. So this thread is excellent.

Keep em coming, I would post mine but I don't have one.

I had a Vintage Time Machine too Timbit. For the price they're a really solid delay.

The Blackstar footswitch is now gone, since I have my Carvin V3 now. Pedal order hasn't changed, looking to pick up a muff at some point to replace the Dirt Transmitter.

I swapped out the eburst clone for a RAH WIIO, but it's otherwise the same. I use every pedal.

... from a purely practical point of view, why would anyone run something on their board that is not getting used? by asking that question, you imply there are other reasons to put pedals on a board besides using them for audio.

Q: "do we really need all these pedals?"
A: do we really need to play guitar? your question implies that that pedals are either needed or not-needed for playing guitar, but that is a weighted question because you don't even NEED to play guitar in the first place. the word 'need' implies 'necessity' (as in: it is not an option, it is necessary for survival); but the action of playing guitar itself is not 'necessary' for anything except playing music/enjoyment.

so when you weight that question with 'need', you are setting the answer up for a resounding 'NO, it is not needed'. it is a weighted question.

i'll tell you what, when i want a square wave form my fuzz helps me out. when i want to destroy my audio signal and make it sound nothing like a normal audio signal (complete with UFO landing sounds) then my ring modulator helps me out. etc.

if i know how to use my pedals to effect, then why should i not use them when i want that effect? using effects lends me new sonic landscapes, gives me new tools to use, expands my noise palette. but i don't 'need' it to make music, but it would limit the amount of noises i can make.

if you don't use your stuff, then obviously you aren't playing or writing music that wouldn't benefit (or you perceive wouldn't benefit) from using effects.

edit: i just took apart my board, i thought i had a pic of my current setup:

mixer -> MF-107 -> MF-102 -> MF-105 -> MF-101 -> boss DD-7 -> amp

i'll get a pic tomorrow.

i send various audio through this setup (i have multiple inputs coming from all kinds of places) and feed the output to my presonus interface. so basically i put whatever audio i want through it, i especially like using it on when i am watching videos on youtube.

I don't like mine of the floor. Everything is new and I haven't figured out how I like my settings yet. This set up make it much easier to tweak knobs rather than bending down all the way to the floor.

Built it myself. Still filling it out. Plenty of space left for more pedals. There is a Pedal Power 2+ under the shelf and a switch system that lets me run the whole rig as one chain in front of an amp or split the top shelf off to an effects loop and run the bottom shelf in front of the amp.

built the board myself. its got blue led lights for some cool back lighting. i use the boss gt10 in 4 cable mode to split fx between the loop and in front of the amp. the sonic stomp adds some clarity and the black foot switch controls an additional 2 additional patches within a patch on the gt10. the rest is self explanatory.

Updated my post, will delete the other one in a sec.
Wanted to include the signal path. and if I just edit the old picture, no one will see it or give a damn. So bite me Tim.

Signal Path:
  • Guitar
  • Tuner
  • ISP G String Input - G String Send
  • Modded GCB-95 (Sounds way better to me than the Bad Horsie 2 did. I bought one then got rid of it a few weeks later).
  • Volume pedal
  • Compressor
  • Fuzz
  • TS-808
  • TS-9DX
  • Hardwire TL-2
  • Box Of Rock
  • Fulldrive 2 MOSFET
  • 10 band EQ
  • 7 band EQ
  • ISP G String Return - G String Output
  • Super Shifter
  • Delay
  • Phase
  • Chorus
  • Delay
  • Amp

The little box to the right of the 10 band EQ is an external preset switch for the Nova Delay.

Ibanez dl10: great sleeper, analogue sounding digital delay
Boss ce-5: hope to replace with a ce2 one day
Maxon od808: pretty standard good pedal
Toyroom fx purple haze fuzz: ridiculously loud and fuzzy in a good way.

Simple board but finding myself just pluging straight in these days...

poppsmeth - your board is pimp.

i looked the guys up:
http://www.chemistrydesignwerks.com/index.html

this is probably one of the best peices of new guitar gear i have seen in a long time. not only does it make sense, but its easily of quality build by the picture and is 100% no BS.

it could do with a hard case, but really, i dont abuse or move my pedals enough to need a flight case. the idea of slinging the board over your shoulder really does make things easy for the average guy trying to consolidate trips of gear.

wow. honestly, if i have to step it up a notch for a board i may highly consider this with the carry bag. 150 isnt bad considering the crap you can get from musician friend for a powered board half the size.

its not as "out of the box" as other boards you may buy, but i like it cause its 100% customizable with a power supply to be attached under the shelf - whichever supply you want. not a crapp built in one that you have no idea how good it really is.

That's what I based mine on. By the time I was done building it I understood why they charged so much for their models. I'm happy with it even if I probably made it too big. The case I made for it is just insane though. It weighs as much as an amp, but my pedals are safe!!!
