they do it for me.

i have no problem playing with or without pedals. when i use pedals i can get this crazy stereo delay, ring mod UFO landings that i can't get from an amp alone and i like that sound so... pedals.

common riffhog, not even a wah pedal? a wah never hurt no one.

Yeah, Gumbi, I hear ya. Wahs are cool...they're an extension for expression like a whammy bar. I don't count wahs as pedals really. I should have stated that.
I just see so many guys running 4 pedals at once, & their signal is SO buried that I can't hear what they're doing when I'm watching them from 6 feet away, & I KNOW EXACTLY what I SHOULD be hearing. It's just SO over-processed that it doesn't even sound "live" anymore. I know you understand what I'm talking about! I like a "live" sound that jumps out at you...you hear every scratch & squeal like it's screaming in your ear. Not some mega-processed jumble of echo-chorus-flange-delay-OD-distortion.

I got nothin'. 98% of the time I play at home or on stage, I use NO pedals. Straight into the amp & let my hands do the rest. Pedals cover up sloppy technique & mud up your tone in general. I look at some of these boards & wonder WTF is happening to the original guitar signal. Nice necro bump, but DANG. Your playing gets buried in layer upon layer of pedals, & eventually no one knows WTF you're doing. I WANT people to hear what i'm playing. Sorry, but pedals don't do it for me. Good playing does it.
There, I said it. Sorry to break up the tea party.

lol, when you're playing dotted eighth delay rhythms that are louder than your dry signal, there's no room for sloppiness. you **** up, the audience will hear it again, and again, and again.

and you make it sound like we're playing three stacked fuzzes into a chorus into a phaser into three delays into five reverbs in stereo. i don't usually have more than two effects on at the same time, despite my fairly big yet ridic versatile board.

That comment was just a lazy, jealous load of bullshit. I don't use a lot of pedals but I've seen people do such creative things with that Mobius that I would even consider that pedal an instrument by itself. There's been such great contributions to guitar music with the additions of pedals that I can't believe people still stay this shit. If someone's sound sucks with a lot of pedals it means they're no good and probably wouldn't be better regardless of whether they have pedals being there or not.

Lazy, yeah, a bit. Jealous, seriously? Nope. I know how to play. Load of bullshit? Well, OK, you got me there. I apologize for being a dick the other night. It could've happened to anyone who just drank a 12-pack of Lagunitas IPA I was hammered, & saw all these massive pedalboards, & thought WTF does anyone need all that for? I've forgotten how much fun it was when I started years ago, & discovering all the wild stuff you could do with pedals. I've evolved into a simple purist, but it doesn't give me the right to condemn pedals. There's always a place for them, just not with me for the most part.
The dumbest part is my friend Gumbi warned me that night that I was crossing the line, & I did it anyway like a dumbshit. Apologies to any pedal lovers I offended, & it won't happen again.
On that note, I need to shop for a wah.

With the arrival of the Second Voice today, I'm just looking for a reverb. In the meantime, Henrietta the Hippo stands guard over toanz.

i like this board very very much.
How's the second voice?

As for reverbs you cannot go past the neunaber WET if huge, droney verbs are your thing. My post above has one, an i can vouch for it like ****.

For something a bit more versatile I recommend the Dr Scientist Reverberator, Strymon FLint or the Red Panda Context. I also rate the Eventide SPace, but I don't think you could fit a Space on there.....

Thanks! The Second Voice can generate some really gnarly synth tones on its own. When paired up with others, it can both tame the Dwarfcraft's splats or drive every note into a sea of noise; generate a lo-fi garage sound when used with the cranky little envelope filter; and be tamed itself when fed into the overdrive, which acts as an EQ. I reverted back to using the amp's distortion after a while, which is super-ballsy in its own right, but it just felt so flimsy in comparison.
Admittedly, the tone and tracking controls for each voice can be a little difficult to negotiate, but it took only a good half-hour to land on a solid performance setting.

Droney reverbs are pretty much ideal, so I'll be sure to check out the Neunaber in depth. The Dr Scientist Reverberator looks sick, though, and the one with the streaked ''television no-signal stripes'' (I have no idea what the phenomenon called, but it can be seen here ) not only sticks with the rainbow theme nicely, but compliments my current industrial band's aesthetic nicely. Thank you for the recommendations!

Signal path is:
guitar -> polytune -> Signa Drive -> Deus Ex Machina -> Dr. Boogey -> Small Clone -> ShimVerb -> amp input

Power supply is a Fuel Tank Chameleon, the thing in the middle with a huge knob ( ) is a Devolt, and lighting is provided by a Mighty Bright Pedal Board Light.

The pedalboard itself was made by me with two pieces of wood, spray paint and velcro.

Yeah I love INFANEM Stuff ingeneral. Was looking at a faye sing for a bit but decided against it, simply on the basis of necessity.

The StereoWet drone's like nothing else, save maybe for the SPACE. BUt I have never seen a reverberator in that finish before and HOLY **** it looks awesome.

Thank you!

The first one (the artistic one, focused on the middle and out of focus around) was taken during soundcheck before a gig, by a friend of mine who's the band's "official photographer" and webdesigner. He's a really talented guy.

But the other one (pedalboard and gigbag) is pretty much run-of-the-mill...
I took it with my dad's old Nikon D40 with auto-focus. Simply point and click.

What about a bass board? Sorry for the crappy pic and side way view

Bass > mxr m82 > source audio soundblox 2 multiwave bass distortion > source audio bass bef with the source audio hot hand 3 daisy chained with the two prior mentioned > boss ceb-3 and a random digidelay.

Does the Mobius say BOOBS! ? because if so, awesome.

And the turbo tuner is fantastic, not sure why more people dont have them.

^^For riffhog

As for my board :

The MXR 108, Volume pedal and noise gate are always on.
As for the others, I MAY have the 2 delays on with a dirt pedal, but other than that, I never have more than 2 on at a time.

I've got all those pedals because I have a single channel amp (AC30), which is why I have all those dirt pedals, and do a lot of Jam band type stuff, so I need options. Never know what I am going to be playing.
