Hi guys, just wondering about good Earplugs for my ear when playing loud music...

Which earplugs are great for safety of the ear but can be able to hear people like bandmates talking without a problem??? I have a pair of "Hearos" but its a problem cause i always have to take them out to hear my band mates talking at times.

Help is very very appreciated since i think this is an important topic for all of us musicians that want to play music for the rest of our lives!!! Thank you all so much!!!

I use the earplugs I take to the firing range when I play drums. I'm not entirely sure what kind they are, but I can hear people talking just fine. I just use them to keep my ears from ringing.

Buy a good pair of open-back headphones and use them as auxiliary output. This should muffle outside sounds just enough that they won't damage your hearing and you can hear them clearly.
The more you say 'epic' the less it means.

I hear excellent things about Etymotic earplugs.
Current gear:
Carvin CT6M
TC Electronics Dark Matter distortion
Harley Benton 2x12, with Celestion V30s
Laney Ironheart 60w tube amp

i just use the huge construction headphones

not very fashionable, but paul gilbert pulls off his monitoring headphones quite well

I've used Etymotic, they work really good. I tend to find myself using toilet paper often at practice. It cuts the highs and it's way better than nothing!
