Hriday, do we have any sort of timetable? I want to submit the song I've been working on from my new album but since it's so different from some of the other stuff I don't want to release it until after the first "single," which isn't coming out for another 3 or 4 weeks at the earliest while I try to put together a music video (shooting the performance part of it in an abandoned house in the countryside that I previously used for a zombie movie, it's so ****ing cool)

Okay, here's the finished, 7 minute 'I Wish I Was Burial' mix

Opinions?

Like I said, I like it.

Submit?

Didn't expect piano!

I really like it how it starts, the chords are quite gorgeous. However, I think the female vocal needs a bit of work. It's not really harmonizing quite well with your vocal, and she sounds a bit shaky.

But, I guess it's not the final version, so it's cool. Take your time.

Also, I don't know if it's because of SoundCloud's downsampling or your recording techniques, but I really love the sort of muffled sound of the piano. It sounds like it belongs on one of Tom Waits' records.

Well, if the older albums were any indicator, we've never had a timetable.

You don't have to worry about release dates, though. This album won't be released any time soon, since I haven't received enough songs yet.

Looking forward to the video, it sounds cool.

I'd probably look horrible in a performance video. I look horrible in still photos already.

Submit?

Yeah, it's better than the wanky Dubstep tune I submitted before. I'll email you a download link at some point.

Eh, I honestly found it a lot better than some of the "pro" dubstep/brostep I've listened to.

I shall keep it for private listening.

Yeah fortunately she did like 20 different takes so I can just switch out parts that I like more for each phrase. My voice is very hard for other people to harmonize with, that is what I learned from my year at college.

Oh and the Piano sounds like that because I don't know how to mic pianos well and I recorded it in a practice room with the mic on the window ledge, you can hear it raining outside on some parts But it worked to my advantage so.

Also here's: https://www.facebook.com/AsGideonWeeps my new band, we're sort of like my old stuff, but shorter, different vocal approach. If the song up on the bandcamp now is atmospheric enough for you Hriday I'd rather just use that, because these drums on that last song are giving me a headache (maybe I'll upload a picture of the Logic file, so many colorful tracks)

I ONLY PAINT PICTURES OF MY DECAY

I like it; the quiet parts sound kinda like City Of Caterpillar. Downloading this as your submission, then.

So I've already sent a submission, but I've re-recorded my song since then and I'd like to change it if possible. Here's a link.

'Ere Hriday (Or Alex if you see this my man). We should collab on something.

I need lush chords for some Garage/Dubstep stuff and you people in here have them. Give them to me.
#618
ok, this will be my submission, it's an old song with a new lo-fi-ed mix

http://www.mediafire.com/download/i23ey6gx1s1ezvo/bleeding_moonlight_(lo-fi_mix).wav

done, tape-saturated, and some eq was done to the strings and the master

I am a reputed manufacturer of seventh chords.

Edit: wait, I think it needs more tape saturation, when I upload the final mix you won't see this edit

OK, I'll be waiting.

Seems like I can't decide what kind of music I want to write.

I'm dealing with some shit in my life right now, so I picked up my guitar the other day and a post-rock inspired emo song magically took form (oh my god that sentence makes me sound like such a tool).

So, uh... I'm writing that. I really like how it's shaping up, so hopefully it's atmospheric enough to fit in with UGPR. I actually think Reverie might turn into something more inspired by Empire! Empire! and Prawn (for better or for worse) Expect shorter, more emo-sounding songs in the future I guess.
#623
is it lo-fi enough?
heeheehee

Well, you said you'd upload the final mix later, so I haven't downloaded the file you posted.

Oops, just saw the edit. Downloading now.

I have a shoegaze song in the works. I'll be done with it in a few days

The full album is up now friends. There are some more atmospheric tracks here. I think "It Wouldn't Be The End Of The Year" would be the most up your alley and the most like "I Wish My Fingers Were Nails" as I'll get anytime soon.
#627
Thanks! I'm particularly proud and particularly sensitive about the last track. I feel like that's more of the direction this project will go. But it also might get a lot more punk influenced as well.

Hmm, I don't normally listen to this style of music but I liked it. I'm not quite sure how I feel about your voice yet, I like the screams but I'm not sure on the cleaner stuff. Instrumentals were pretty nice. Listened to just a few tracks but I'll be sure to finish it later.

oh and if we're posting albums we've made recently here's mine http://mockoff.bandcamp.com/album/myself-yourself

Lol.

Downloading.

How's everyone else's progress? My song is ready, and it's an electronic affair, like Will's. So yeah, come on, even I'm ready.
#634
The drummer I'm working with is recording the part for my song sometime this weekend or early next week and once that's done all I have to do is re-record a couple of guitar parts and possibly the bass and then we're all gucci.

Edit: so, maybe late next week or early the following week for when I'll have it done. Do we have a hard deadline yet?

Sorry fellas. I finished recording everything except for vox earlier today, so hopefully it won't be much longer. But if everyone's getting impatient, I'm okay with submitting something old.

In the meantime, perhaps we can start working out other things like album art and whatnot?
#640
Well, there's not that much of a rush, lol.

How does end of the month sound?

Also, for album art, you guys can try your hand at still life photography. One picture with apples and kettles, and another picture with pots and oranges. You can include other stuff too, but those should be the main subjects.

Oh, and it doesn't have to be multiple. For example, just one pot and orange in a picture is fine.
