Just traded an Epiphone les paul I had tinkered with for this thing, is in good condition, was just extremely filthy, and that poor unoiled fretboard, so cleaned it up and good as new just gotta get some strings tomorrow hopefully pics:
Rough beginning:

Taped fretboard to clean frets:

Soapy fretboards = soon to be happy fretboards:

Oil that thing baby!:

Finished time for strings!:

Why do so many guitarists and drummers come here to ask help for their bass players?? Are we that shy in the wild?

Use bait!

Bass player looks nervous!

Use safari ball!

... ... ... !

bass player got away...

Exactly him. I love his videos even though I rarely do my own repairs.

Now just buy a tortoise shell pickguard and it looks perfect.

My favorite colors for Fender Jazz/Precision/Strat are black/blue with tortoise pickguard and natural/sunburst/red with black pickguard. And IMO black and white just reminds me of starter pack guitars.

But happy new bass day even though I'm a bit late.

3TS with a Tortoise or black pickguard is my favorite even though it might be kind of lame.

I like the look for black with a 3-ply b-w-b pickguard with a maple neck and black rectangle inlays too.

When you break a bass string, that snapping sound is the sound of six dollars going down the crapper.

Pots/knobs came in today

In the beginning, with the utter crap MIM wiring:

STOP! solder time!

I'm so wired right now!

with the wiring complete and the new knobs, also showing off my strap with its cool vintage motorcycle patches/pins:

Altogether now!

I meant the pic he posted about the tortoise pickguard equipped bass (there's no pic in his comment).

upgraded with the vintage covers and a graphtech nut, I messed around a bit with the bridge cover, and scooted it a wee bit before the bridge pup so I could still pick there, I love how it looks now, I'm very proud of the progression since the beginning, I may or may not add a tortoise shell pickguard, but I really like the white,

I have a mexican jazz on the way and I am planning on doing everything you have done here but with a Red Marble pickguard. Looks like a beaut you have there, though I was considering using the block inlay stickers to make the fretboard a little fancier. Not sure if they are any good though.

Still, congrats on the great mods, looks incredible.
