It looks lame, and G12T-75s probably won't sound nearly as good as V30s for what I'm assuming you're doing with a 5150 III.

Hm...I could always change them down the line.
If I talk him down to 300? would it be worth it?

Those Celestions in that cab are made in UK so you may be able to sell them a little higher than the Chinese ones in the used market.

Not sure what the t75s go for used but if you could sell those for about minimum $85 each then you could replace them with maybe WGS Retro 30s or something. Avatar cabs are built well.

The G12T-75s are going to have a little bit more low end and more aggressive mid-range than the Vintage 30's. They are also rated for 75w vs the Vintage 30's 60w. If you are looking for speakers for hard rock or metal, it's hard to beat the G12t-75's. Those are the same speakers used in the Marshall 1960A cabs as well.

This is terrible advice. Even worse than the useless dry, sarcastic comment I made.

Well, I asked the guy in Altadena and the lowest he is going is $230. for the Carvin Legacy cab with 2 v30's in it.

From what I've read the v30's are scooped sounding right?

No, V30s aren't scooped at all.

+1

g12t75s are more scooped. I'd also have said a v30 has a way more aggressive mid-range than g12t75s. the 75s have more bass and more treble, and more sizzle/fizz.

+1 to Dave. V30s are very mid heavy whereas the g12s are scooped sounding.

Well, I went and picked it up.
The V30's don't have scooped mids...so I must have been thinking of something else.

Am I supposed to do a New Cab Day?

If you'd like, I'd be more interested in the 5150III mini review though once you get that. I think most people know roughly what a cab with 2 v30s sounds like. Still a good deal though, carvin makes solid cabs and I think you'll like the v30s.

Good deal, make sure you follow the new gear day rules, 2 out of the 3, review, clips, pictures as a minimum.
