Hey guys, quick question. Judging by the pictures I've posted, would it be possible for me to install a Floyd Rose Special w/ D-Tuna on my guitar? (Jackson JS32RDK)

Can it be done?

Yes.

I actually just put a Floyd Rose Special on my JS32R Dinky last weekend and it went relatively smoothly.

Haven't used a D-Tuna, cause I don't see the point in them, but not sure why it wouldn't work.

Cool. I'll give it a shot then. I want the D-Tuna too because it's a hassle to D tune with a Floyd and lots of songs I play are Drop D tuned. I think I'll swap the bridge pickup too, with an EMG or something.

Stop copying my Dinky >:O

Is it not as good as people say it is?

You can instell it fine, but there will be a problem. The D-Tuna (why its named after a fish is beyond me) only works on guitars were the Floyd Rose cavity isn't backrouted ie. Floyd cavities that only allow you to dive bomb but not pull up.

Jacksons usually are backrouted, so i doubt a D-tuna will work unless you block the trem.

I see no point in them. You can use the fine tuners to drop the tuning, or just tune to the drop tuning.

And yea, what T00 said.

Yeah... that's why I was wondering if it was a good idea or not.

it really isn't worth it, if you play it a lot the setting of the 'd' goes out of tune when you slide it, and if you move it at all there half the time it doesn't get you to an accurate tuning.

if you need to know how to change tuning in the middle just and a couple of harmonics or tune to the D string. i can do that in one shot and be in better tune, and have a second to tune back up.

complete waste of money. i would have sold mine, but since it came on the guitar i will put it back if i decide to sell the guitar.

and also it only works on dive only FR's, if you are full floating, you would need to get somehting like a tremol-no and set it to dive only.
