oh, shit.

How could I forget.

Sweet Weapons. 90s emo. dancey as hell in some parts. Get it before their label ups the prices.

http://sweetweapons.bandcamp.com/

look no further than Summer Catch or Strange Brew. Those songs are fantastic. Definitely Honorable Mention worthy.

http://templeofficial.bandcamp.com/album/on-the-steps-of-the-temple -- Post-Metal-ish/Black Metal-ish*

*I'd have to listen more to determine whether it's Post-Metal or Black Metal, but that gives you a good idea of what to possibly expect. Give it a listen, see if you like them.

Edit:
And they're not free, but $5 is fairly cheap, guys. Who can't save up $5?

wtf that is irrelevant to this thread, most music is 'fairly cheap'. this thread is about freebies.

I kind of suspected that, what with the intro and all. Sometimes, when I got the volume down on my PC ('cause I'm too lazy to get headphones and too polite to blast music in the living room), I can't quite tell.

@People whining:
So, I'm hardly the only one who's posted albums where they charge $5 or less. Jeese, people! Calm down!

Anyway...I've been really getting into some of the Metal bands on bandcamp, so I wen searching for more.

http://intervalsmusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-space-between - Progressive Metal*. This is their free album.

http://abhormetal.bandcamp.com/album/abhor-ep -- More Progressive Metal.

http://distortedharm0ny.bandcamp.com/album/utopia -- Even more.

*Don't use the term "Djent". If you must know why, go look up the blog on in my profile.

Edit:
I really don't anything punk about that. I do hope you were joking...

Edit2:
Now, I kinda hear it, but really all it is...is some form of Crust Punk with some oddly slow sections.
The first song took like half song before it even really used any instantly recognizable Punk elements. At first, I thought the band was SunnO))) knockoff or something.

http://fromfragileseeds.bandcamp.com/ Post-rock with vocals, maybe some art-rocky elements?
It's a UGer's band. He was about to call him out for promoting his band, but then I listened to this and was actually really impressed (and it's not really promotion if you mention it in a forum as dead as the modern rock forum...).

http://badbadnotgood.bandcamp.com/ jazz/hip hop
They've probably been mentioned before, but both their albums are sweet. Half of it are covers (modern ones, like Kanye West and James Blake, no Summertime or Autumn Leaves or anything like that) but that's to be expected from a jazzzz band.

I don't go on here much often these days but this thread is awesome, some great stuff being posted, thanks!

Here's a couple of my favourites:

http://gates.bandcamp.com/ - 2 amazing EPs and both for free/name your price. Indie/Emo/Ambient from New Brunswick, NJ

http://bodydoubles.bandcamp.com/ - Everything they've done is free, Sun & Showers EP is brilliant. Melodic post hardcore/rock band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

http://climateshc.bandcamp.com/ - Great EP, if you go on to the facebook link from the bandcamp there is a free download link I believe. Melodic Hardcore from UK
