Wah Pedal Technique

If this is in the wrong forum, go ahead and move it.

I've been experimenting with my Cry Baby Wah more lately, and i find that I always get stuck in the same pattern. Rocking it back and forth at a constant tempo.

I've been trying to get a technique that can make it sound like the wah in "Nothing special" by illscarlett:

"Kiss" by Prince:

"Overlord" by BLS:

I can't get it to sound like this at all. It sounds so fluid and so fantastic, whereas mine sounds kind of choppy I guess and not very pleasent.

Any advice on wah technique?
Main Rig:

Epiphone MKH Les Paul Custom 7 - Ronda
Ibanez RG8 "Scarlet" - AKA The Rambanez
Fender Strat "Danielle"/"Dani"

Listen to the BLS one carefully, you can clearly imagine how he is rocking the pedal, just copy it? Get the same groove going. I have a Vox wah, not as good as a Cry Baby, I find theres a sweet spot near the top end and I try and move around there not just a constant rocking.

^many people think a vox wah is superior. i think they are about same in quality just a little different.

it didn't let me play the top two video's cuz of copyrights in the US.

in the black label video he is just rocking his foot along with the rhythm. nothing special. he most likely isn't going through a full excusion of the pedal, he is prob just limiting the movement around a particular spot like AJ was talking about.

my wah technique is pretty non rhythmic most the time, i make a point not to just rock it back and forth with whatever notes i am playing.
punk isn't dead, it's always smelled that way.
